    Spencer used to be a geeky freshman who only had eyes for Ashley, the gorgeous senior and also her sister’s best friend. Ashley moves to New York, but comes back to L.A. 4 years later. Now that she’s back will she see Spencer differently?

    "You mean it? Really?!" Spencer asked excitedly. If Ashley moved back, she’d have a chance to finally see Spencer as she was. A grown-up. Maybe look at her in a different way. Ashley laid back on the bed wearily.
    "Sure thing, Spence. I promise." Ashley got the words out and turned on her side. She was asleep in seconds.

    Spencer glowed. Ashley was coming back! Life wasn’t over after all. She took out a throw and carefully placed it over her, then pulled up the rocking chair next to the brunettes sleeping form on the bed. Hugging herself, she fell into a dreamless sleep.

    Four Years Later…

    "Kyla, this bridesmaid’s dress is dismal. Florescent orange is a good color for no one! What were you thinking?!" Spencer wailed, spinning in front of the mirror for the eightieth time. Each time the dress just looked worse.

    "It’s traditional to make the bridesmaids look grotesque. I read about it in Cosmo." Kyla stated, gazing at her wedding gown. "Cosmo is the modern woman’s bible, you know."

    Spencer pouted. "If you put me in this thing, I swear to God I will run screaming down the aisle and ruin your wedding!"

    Taking off her dress, Kyla sighed heavily. "Fine. Be a big pain. You can pick out whatever you want for you. You are the Maid of Honor, after all. Everyone else is wearing the Tangerine Dream, though!" She punctuated this statement by waving around the matching orange parasol.

    "Good!" Spencer beamed. Now, if she could just try on that little black number with the slit…

    "I’ve finally got the pairing together for groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Since you’re Maid of Honor, you’ll be paired with Ashley for the night. Then there’s Chelsea with Clay, Michelle with Glen…" Kyla’s voice blabbed on.

    Spencer stood still in shock. Ashley? Ashley Davies? Why hadn’t she considered this might happen? She WAS Kyla and Aiden’s best friend, even after all these years. She squinted her eyes in remembered hurt. All these years. I should be over this by now. So what if she’d lied to her and ruined her life. She’d moved on. She’d ditched the braces, dyed her hair a truly magnificent shade of blonde, traded in the glasses for contacts, and had made the cheerleading squad at UCLA. She had a hottie of a girlfriend that her gay friends practically drooled over and her straight friends wanted to look like. Her life was perfect. So why did the mere mention of Ashley’s name send butterflies into her stomach?

I’m so excited to see Ashley’s reaction. All I have to say is PLEASE don’t let Spence act like a complete goober in front of Ash. Make her seem calm cool and collected. That is the way to do, I think. If Spencer acts all dorky I’ll feel all embarrassed for her. You could write that and I’d still read it tho. PMS please. Love xoXOxo
