“That’s really sweet. My parents divorced when I was so little that I don’t even remember… My mom is just a plain bitch though, she was never really there when I was little. I was always shuttled off to daycare and the times that I saw my Father were few and far between, I guess you could say I don’t really get the whole family thing.” Spencer reached under the table and squeezed her hand. Ashley smiled up at her.

“You’re going to love my family Ashley, both of my brothers will be there this weekend and my step dad is off from the hospital, he’s really nice, we’ll show ya what family is all about.” Inside Ashley cringed with nervousness but outwardly she tried not to show it. Meeting families was always a touchy issue with her because she never knew how to act. Maybe Spencer’s won’t be that bad.

“I’m looking forward to it, are you ready to go back and get started on that homework?” Spencer made a face at her sticking out her tongue but pushed back her chair and grabbed her keys.

“Hey you. I’ll race you back to the dorm!” Ashley looked at Spencer, raising an eyebrow and took off running. Spencer laughed and gave chase.

“Hey Ashley OH MY GOD! LOOK a wombat!” Ashley slowed her sprint and looked to her right but saw nothing then realized that Spencer had been trying to distract her.

“Very funny. What the hell is a wombat?!” Spencer grinned triumphantly from the front steps and swiped her card to get through the door. It unlocked with a quiet click and she held the glass door for Ashley. The girls jogged down the hallway toward Spencer’s room. Both of them had red faces and Ashley’s hair fell wildly from a bun on top of her head.

When they reached the room, Spencer noticed that the door was open. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously and pushed it open. The other side of the room which had been bare since Kristen had moved out, was decorated in vibrant pink. It was like a ruffle and lace explosion had gone off on that side of the room. Ashley’s eyes were wide and she stared open mouthed at the large Antonio Banderas poster on the wall above the bed. Oh shit, Antonio Banderas? The only person I know that likes him is-

“Hi there girlies, Guess who transferred?! This is going to be so so much fun!” Madison was standing in the doorway with a huge grin on her face. All the blood drained from Ashley’s face and she looked at Spencer who looked extremely bewildered.

“Oh don’t worry, I won’t try and like ruin your lives or anything, this was just the only room available for me to move into. I’m cool with the whole lezzie thing too, just don’t you know play bump bump in front of me and we’ll get along fine,” Spencer’s mouth dropped open and Ashley’s face reddened. This really was going to be a long semester wasn’t it?
