    Ashley reunites with old friends

    “Ash?”

    “Hey, Spencer, uh, it’s Ben. Look, uh, Ashley’s pretty drunk right now and I brought her back to her apartment but there’s nobody here… and she probably shouldn’t be alone right now. We’d let her stay at the hotel but the manager threatened to kick us out if we didn’t make everyone leave. So, uh… could we bring her to you for the night?”

    “Um… alright,” I replied, sitting up in my bed. I checked the clock: 2:53 am. Great.

    I gave him my address before hanging up.

    “What’s going on?” Allie asked sleepily. I sighed, missing the days before she and Aiden broke up, when I could count on her to be out most of the night; they had remained good friends, but without benefits, you could say. I told her the story and apologized; she didn’t seem to mind too much.

     

    I threw on a jacket and some shoes and went downstairs, remembering that they wouldn’t be able to get in without a card. Fifteen minutes passed by and I wondered where they were; it was, at most, only a 10 minute walk from Ash’s to my dorm. Fifteen more minutes passed by and I got angry. Knowing Ash, she probably made him stop to get her something to eat. But then fifteen more minutes passed by and I just got worried. What if something had happened along the way? I was about to call her cell phone until I saw them; Ashley was on Ben’s back, apparently fast asleep.

    “Hey, sorry it took so long… she started throwing up halfway over and then she fell asleep,” he explained.

    “Don’t worry about it. Can you carry her up to my room though?”

    “Yeah, sure.”

    “Thanks.”

    “No problem,” he replied as we got into the elevator. “So is Ash going to be in trouble tomorrow morning?”

    “A little, yeah,” I laughed.

    “If it’s any consolation, she was talking about you half the night.”

    “Well, I guess that helps,” I replied as he laughed. As the elevator arrived at the floor, the loud ringing noise that accompanied it apparently woke Ashley up.

    “Sleep well?” I asked.

    “Mmm… where am I?”

    “My dorm,” I answered. We reached the room and Ben laid Ashley down on my bed. She struggled to find a comfortable position in jeans. “Go back to sleep, Ash. Oh, Ben, this is Allie, my roommate,” I said as I noticed her sitting there, watching the whole scene unfold. “Ben’s an old friend of Ashley’s.”

    “Nice to meet you,” he told her.

    “You too. Anything I can do to help?”

    “I think we’ve got it covered, thanks,” he replied. “Sorry for waking you up.”

    “Stop flirting Ben,” Ashley said sleepily, as the 3 of us started to laugh.

    “Alright, on that note I think I’m going to go. See you ladies later. Call if you need anything,” he said before he left.

    “Hot, right Allie?” Ashley said.

    “Very,” she replied.

    “Mmm… I’ll set you two up,” were the last words she said before passing out. I took off my jacket, pushed her over a little, and got into bed as well.

    “So what’s his deal?” Allie asked.

    “He plays guitar in some band Ashley’s used to tour with. They’re good friends,” I told her.

    “Single?”

    “I think.”

    “Perfect,” she said with a yawn. “Tell Ash I’m interested.”

    “I will,” I giggled. “Goodnight.”

    “Goodnight,” she replied. I turned my lamp off and laid back down, kissing Ashley gently before falling asleep.

    2. Good to see an old-school fan fic writer back in action-not that I don’t enjoy the new stuff…it’s just that a familiar name is always welcome.

    3. Hmm, is this the calm before the storm? Nonetheless, I’m still loving this story and your writing. I’d like to apologize for not commenting on the last chapter. I still had food poisoning, which was just all kinds of wrong…not that it’s ever right, but I definitely know that a lack of comments can be a writer’s kryptonite. As always, looking forward to the next update. Holla!

    4. I know it’s nice for the writers to see that readers comment on their stories… I always read the updates in a rush but that’s no excuse… the point is that I’m always glad when I realize you’ve updated your story.

For some reason I have this itch in me for the whole school to walk into Spencer’s room and she that she is sleeping with the hottest rockstar in the nation! lol, maybe cause that is what I wish would happen to me?? lol…great story!
