    It’s never about what I wanted – (Chapter: Ashley’s story pt 1)

She prayed that the voice that had spoken was just her imagination. But when she looked up and her blue eyes met Ashley’s brown, she knew God obviously hadn’t been listening.

It had taken Ashley all day to work up the nerve to go and talk to Spencer. The three days the blonde had been missing were by far the scariest days of her entire life. When Spencer had walked into the meeting that morning it took everything she had not to grab her and tell her that she was lost without her. That she didn’t care what her Father thought, what their clients thought, as long as she would forgive her. But she couldn’t tell her those things, they were no longer an option. Instead she watched as their friends embraced her and tried to get her to tell them what had happened. A part of her thought Spencer might just tell them everything. It wasn’t like she had much motivation to keep it secret anymore. It almost hurt more when Spencer instead told them half hearted truths.

‘Why doesn’t she just tell them what an evil lying bitch I am? How can she still protect me after what I’ve done?’

She was shocked when she made it through the rest of the meeting without shaking. Her nerves were shot her mind in total chaos. When she called the meeting to a close Spencer was out the door so fast all she saw was a blur of blonde hair streak out the door.

When she was sure everyone had left the conference room she let herself collapse into a nearby chair. She tried to rub the stinging out of her eyes but every time she let them close all she saw was what had led to this moment, to this emptiness.

Ashley was always the last person to leave the office. She knew what people thought of her. So she worked extra hard to prove that she deserved the job she was given. Finally stopping to look at her watch she silently cursed. She was supposed to meet her Father and most likely another high society blind date in an hour. Grabbing her things she made her way out of her office and was headed toward the elevator when she noticed another office light on. A small grin spread across her lips when she realized what office was still occupied. ‘I think my Father and his golden boy of the week are just going to have to wait.’

    1. Oooh, big twist from daddy. He probably threatened Spencer in some way. Maybe Ashley was trying to protect her? I love the drama this fic provides. But I would be okay if the truth came out and they got back together soon.
