Like A Million Parachutes – (Chapter: Chapter One)

    “I don’t know.  Movie?”

    “Boring.”

    “Party?”

“You want to throw one here?”

“No…my place.  Your place is a wreck.”

“Okay.  Go call people.  I’ll go to the liquor store.”

Before you know it I’m in Lindsay-hell.  A load of rich upper class Barbie’s who talk about nothing but themselves.  I’m surrounded by 3 people each asking me about my music and I’m just so sick of hearing all of their bullshit.  I excuse myself and walk to Lindsay’s bedroom to be surprised to see Aiden.

    “Oh…hey!”

    “Hey Ash.”

“I didn’t know you were here.”

    “Lindsay invited my girlfriend.”

“Oh right.  Get sick of being the only boy here?”

    “Yeah.”

“I got sick of being a celebrity.”

    “How’s that going anyway?”

“I try to stay in the studio as much as possible.  I’ll be starting a local venue mini-tour after I finish my album up to get some sort of response on my new stuff.”

“Give me a call then.  I want to go to one of your shows.”

    “Of course.  VIP treatment.”

“Sweet.  I talked to Glen…Spencer’s going to be in town for Thanksgiving.  I was thinking we could have a little reunion.”

“I can’t *cough* I’m not allowed to talk to Spencer.”

    “Why not?”

“Because she’s my ex.  Lindsay doesn’t want me to have anything to do with her anymore.”

    “That’s pretty lame.”

    “I think so too.”

Soon enough Aiden’s girlfriend was in the room stealing him away.

“Give me a call, seriously.  I want to go to one of your shows.”

    “Definitely.”

I lay down and grab my journal to start jotting some lyrics down.  I might as well have a song in case Lindsay brings up the song again.

“Ashley!!!  I’m leaving in two days!  Why can’t you just be social?”

    “I’m writing.”

“Aren’t you always?  Music more important than me?”

“It paid for those shoes on your feet, didn’t it?”

“I will never have your babies.”

She storms out of the room…furious.  I get up, walk through the living room, and head for the door.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going?”

“Stop yelling.  You’re mad at me, so I’m getting out of your hair.”

    “Please stay.”

    Her bottom lip is protruding.

    “Fine.”

    “Yay!”

She kisses me and drags me back to her friends.
