Mike: “Get the fuck out?’ Hell no, I haven’t seen you in forever!” Ashley is chuckling as she covers herself and in an instant Mikey takes a blanket-covered Ashley into his arms and lifts her off the bed into a bear hug.
I watch them both laughing from the side of the bed until Mikey sees me.
Mikey: “Ash, did you know that there is a girl hiding next to your bed?” He whispers.
Ashley: “Yeah, Mike, that’s my girlfriend.” She laughs and whispers back. He tosses her onto the bed before he throws himself across it to greet me.
Mikey: “Spencer!” He shouts and sticks out his hand and flips his surfer boy chin-length hair out of his face to show me his huge smile. I slowly accept his hand while readjusting the comforter over my body. “I’ve heard everything about you!” He spins his legs around on the bed and stands before he picks me up and gives me the biggest hug of my life. My feet are dangling in midair and I look over to the bed to see a giggling Ashley watching us.
Spencer: “Uh Mikey was it?” He laughs a loud warm and infectious laugh. He sets me down back down onto my feet, still grinning before he sticks his hand out once again.
Mikey: “Michael Demetrius Philip Dooly the III, pleased to meet your acquaintance.” His says and bows low and kisses the palm of my hand.
Ashley: “Watch it there, Mikey.” He stands and his face is quite serious as he places his palm over his heart and looks over at Ashley.
Mikey: “My apologies, Ms. Davies.” And then he turns to me. “My apologies, Ms. Carlin.”
Ashley: “Yeah, you cock-block, you better be.” His eyes bulge and for the first time he looks truly embarrassed.
Mikey: “Oh shit! I’m so, so sorry you guys! I was only looking for an open room for my aunt and uncle.” Her face falls and she suddenly looks on the verge of tears.
Ashley: “Mike…I’m so sorry about Jocelyn.” His face is somber too and he gets up onto the bed and she sits up to meet his hug.
Mikey: “She always loved you Ashley. I really wish she could have met Spencer. I know that she was thrilled you finally found someone.” His head is buried in her shoulder and Ashley looks over at me with a teary grin I try to return.

Wow! Seems like I wasn’t the only one expecting rude Spashleyness in this chapter! That said, I loved it anyway! With just the briefest introduction I’ve already fallen in love with Sara’s family and really felt their loss. Again you have introduced some potentially awsome original characters. I know I’ve said it before but it really adds depth to any fic and when it’s done well…yes I do mean you!….it sets them apart from the compettition….and I must say I’m looking forward to the burlesque club….always wanted to go but not got round to it yet!! Awaiting your next post…whatever it may be…with bated breath! Oh, and your one shot/short story sounds intriguing…Bring It On!!!
