    Spencer and Ashley clear up a misunderstanding. Someone new enters the picture for a very confused Spencer and makes Aiden consider playing for the other team even more.

    “So, what about you? Did you leave behind some great, lost love?” he asked, attempting to figure out this girl’s preference before he got in over his head.

    “Um, not really. I was dating a few people before I left, but nothing major. I like to keep my options open in case I find someone that’s…you know, worth it.”

    Spencer nodded, but she was distracted by the thoughts running through her head. Now that she had solidified her romantic relationship with Ashley, she was fully aware of her attraction to girls. She wasn’t, however, expecting to be attracted to another girl so soon. When she made the jump with Ashley, she never even considered the fact that from then on she wasn’t just Ashley’s girlfriend, but a girl who…well, liked other girls. And now sitting right in front of her was a girl she was definitely attracted to. She didn’t quite know what to make of her situation.

    Lindsay’s thoughts were quite similar. There was no doubt that she was into Spencer, but from the looks of it, she and Ashley were pretty solid. And why wouldn’t Spencer like Ashley? She was funny, sexy, and hot…all of what she was sure she could see in the blonde. It wasn’t in her nature to go after someone else’s girlfriend, but as she stared at Spencer—who was twisting her hair around her finger as she laughed at something Aiden had said—she was almost sure it was worth the challenge.

    “So I really wanna see it, you know? Even if it is some stupid high school talent show,” Aiden said as he tossed his paper bag in a nearby garbage can.

    “Yeah, it seems cool. We can even drag Ashley along if we tell her there’s free food.”

    “Awesome. Hey, Lindsay, you want to come with?” Aiden asked, disturbing the girl’s thoughts.

    “Oh, uh…to what?”

    “The school’s putting on this big talent show. They do it every year. Singing, dancing, freestyling, juggling…the works. You should really go with us.”

    Lindsay turned to Spencer, “Are you going?”

    Ashley had no idea how her usual after-school time with Spencer had turned into after-school time with Spencer and her very new, very bubbly, very into her girlfriend…friend. Ashley wasn’t as new to the game as Spencer and she could tell after only a few minutes that this Lindsay was looking to be more than just a “pal.” She also knew that Spencer wouldn’t see it coming and if Ashley brought it up, she would only appear jealous.

    “So, Ash, you have to go to the talent show with us. It’s going to be so much fun,” Spencer said enthusiastically. They were all in Spencer’s room, Spencer and Ashley on opposite sides of the bed and Lindsay in a desk chair, her eyes never leaving Spencer.

    “What are you talking about? I’m in the show. Didn’t I tell you?”

    “What? Since when?”

    “Since…uh, forever? I don’t know, I’m sure I told you,” Ashley lied.

    “You so didn’t, but it doesn’t matter. Now we have even more of a reason to go.”

    “What, are you going to be my personal cheerleader?” Ashley asked with a smile.

    “Always…always,” Spencer replied, sliding over to lightly kiss the brunette’s lips.

    “I think that’s my cue, so…”

    “No, Lindsay. Don’t be ridiculous,” Spencer said, immediately returning to her side of the bed, “I don’t want you to go.”

    There was an awkward moment of silence. Well, it was awkward for Spencer at least who could hear how desperate she sounded, but could do nothing to stop it.

    “I was only picking up on what I thought was a hint-my mistake. I don’t want to go anywhere…the food here is like, so much better than it is at my house,” Lindsay said, a smile making its way onto her face and sending a lightening bolt of attraction through Spencer.

    ‘I on the other hand, have to go,” Ashley said, “my cousin’s in town for the week and I have to make sure I’m at the house to let him in.”

    “Can’t your mom do that?” Spencer asked, scared to be alone with Lindsay even for a minute.

    “Are you kidding? My mom is missing in action as usual.”

    “Ashley’s mom is always busy,” Spencer said to Lindsay.

    “Busy? Try slutty. Anyway, I have to go. You need a ride, Linds?” Ashley asked, her tone slightly condescending.

    “No, I’m good. Thanks, though.”

    Ashley hesitated, but she closed Spencer’s bedroom door behind her.

    As soon as she could no longer hear Ashley’s footsteps, Lindsay walked across the room, taking Ashley’s place on Spencer’s bed.

    “So, what do you want to do?”
