North of Somewhere: All Grown Up – (Chapter: Falling…)
“I’m getting fucking married tomorrow!”
The few people that could hear her over the pulsating bass of the club cheered, some even bought the heavily intoxicated blonde a shot to celebrate—the last thing she needed.
“Spencer, how do you feel?” Meredith asked her, before downing a shot of her own.
“I feel fucking amazing, that’s how I feel!”
She hadn’t intended on getting drunk, simply opting for a glass of wine while the rest of her entourage bought drink after drink. But before Spencer knew it, one glass of wine turned into one beer and one beer turned into one shot and six or seven drinks later she was dancing on top of the bar.
Suddenly she heard a voice calling her name. In her state it sounded like a chorus of voices and she couldn’t figure out exactly where all of these people that knew her name were coming from.
“Spence?”
And then there she was, standing below her—Rachel.
“Rach?”
“Hey,” the brunette replied, offering her hand to help Spencer dismount from the bar. And then after almost a year, they were face-to-face again.
“It’s good to see you,” Spencer said, swallowing hard.
“Yeah, it’s good to see you too. How are you? How’ve you been?”
In ordinary circumstances, Spencer wouldn’t have been quite as blunt, but her ability to filter herself left the building around drink number five, “I’m getting married tomorrow.”
Rachel didn’t look as surprised as Spencer would’ve expected, “So I heard. Congratulations.”
“Wait, who told you?”
“Um, you just told everyone, remember?”
“Oh, I forgot,” Spencer said with a drunken smile.
“You’re marrying Ashley, I assume.”
“Can you fucking believe it? After all these years! It’s amazing, right?”
Rachel nodded, “Right…amazing.”
“Hey, you sh-should come, ok?”
“Do you really think that’s the best idea, you know…considering…?”
“Sure, why not?”
“Oh, I don’t know…maybe because you and I were engaged less than a year ago.”
“So.”
“So isn’t that a little awkward?”
“I really like this place,” Spencer said, looking around the club. The over-the-top décor would’ve driven her insane if she was sober, but with the alcohol drowning out her usual preferences, everything looked incredible.
“What?” Rachel asked, obviously annoyed.
“Hey, so are you coming or not?”

I’m so glad Rachel didn’t mess things up for Spencer and Ashley. Drunken Spencer dancing on a bar sounds pretty enticing. I love this story, it just gets better and better as time goes on. Looking forward to the wedding chapter! PMS
I was so focused on hoping Lindsay didn’t show up that I didn’t even think about Rachel! Thank goodness she didn’t mess anything up. Loved the fluff and all the sweet moments between Ashley/Spencer. I feel like maybe some good stuff is coming up with the wedding.
Great Update. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait for the next chapter. PMS real Soon.

Can’t wait for the wedding to hear Ashley’s vows after this. She should definitely have inspiration now. Spencer with a bandage and a wedding dress. LOL. Those pictures will be so funny. Ha ha…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I am in L-O-V-E with this story. It all feels so real. I’m glad that Rachel didn’t cause any uneasiness within Spencer. I could so not take another Spashley break up. I also find it somewhat hilarious that Spencer has to wear a bandage on her wedding day. That’s the kinda stuff that happens to me.
