    Surprise!

I started laughing hysterically when I saw their faces.

“Awe, you two are too cute!” Jessica exclaimed, then added, “What are you laughing so much about, Bella?”

    “You . . . should’ve . . . seen . . . the . . . look on . . . Mike’s . . . and . . . Lauren’s . . . faces!” I said while giggling uncontrollably. Edward chuckled.

“Are you on crack?!” Lauren asked snobbishly. That only got me laughing harder.

“No! I . . . don’t know . . . why . . . I’m laughing so . . . much!” I said and took a deep breath, hoping to calm myself down. When I was finally sober again, I noticed all of them, even Serena and Edward, staring at me as if I’d sprouted another eye! “What? Can’t a chick be hyper and bubbly?”

“Bella, love, I think you should go lie down. You sure are acting like you’re on crack,” Edward joked. I smacked his arm. He snickered.

“I’m hungry. Let’s go get some food,” Mike said. Everyone agreed and went to go get dinner.

A while and a hell of a lot of mingling later, Lauren approached us. Alone.

“Hey, Edward!” She exclaimed in a flirty voice and batted her lashes. How someone can manage to be such a slut is beyond me!

“Hello, Lauren,” Edward said, politely as always. He’s always such a gentleman, even when the person he’s talking to doesn’t deserve his kindness. I could hear a hint of annoyance and disgust in his tone, however. I doubt Lauren could hear it though, ‘cause she kept batting her fake eyelashes at him.

“Eddie, let’s go outside for a walk! It’s getting crowded in here.” I really want to hit her right now. How dare she call my Edward, ‘Eddie’?!

“It’s Edward, Lauren. Not Eddie. I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t call me Eddie. I punch Emmett anytime he calls me that. And secondly, I’m sort of with my wife and daughter right now,” Edward said. Ha! Serves her right! No matter how politely he said it, it was mean.

“I bet Bella gets to call you Eddie! And I’m sure you’ll let your daughter call you Eddie.” Lauren sneered when she said ‘daughter.’ I was getting really close to hitting her, but Edward, sensing what I was going to do, held me back.
