Symptoms of Love – (Chapter: 4)
Ashley felt herself blushing. God, what is she doing to me? Mmmm…stop looking at me like that.
Paula slowly figured out what was happening but was too afraid to acknowledge it, “Wow….umm…Ashley…that…was sweet of …you?” They both jumped slightly at the sound of her voice as both girls had completely forgotten that Paula was still standing there.
“Well, Spence. I mean Spencer has been really cool with me since I met her. She was much more than I expected. So I thought I’d do something nice, you know…”
“Yeah, I do,” Paula said curiously. Was Ashley gay?
Both girls said there goodbyes to Paula and were on their way.

“Pick up. Pick up. Pick up,” Christine held the phone pacing back and forth.
“Hello?”
“Paula, you answered? Umm.. It’s Christine”
“I know.”
“Look… I think that we should talk.”
“I don’t know, if that’s a good idea Christine.”
“Paula, I don’t want to lose our friendship. It’s not worth us not talking to each other at all. Just meet me for lunch today,” Christine begged.
“Okay, lunch…,” Paula sighed.
*****
Spencer was already exhausted from looking at so many things, “L.A. is so much larger than where I came from.”
Parking the car at the beach, Ashley leaned back in her seat. Spencer couldn’t help but gaze at her body. Ashley was sexy. Her toned body called out to her for attention. Spencer had to get it together. She couldn’t be falling this quickly. Both girls sat in the car staring at the ocean.
Ashley‘s voice was raspy and relaxed, nearly seductive, “I know it can be a little overwhelming at first. But you’re lucky.”
“Why?” Spencer said puzzled.
“You’ve got me!”
Ashley was beginning to love how she made Spencer laugh. Her bright smile made her look even more beautiful. A desire had grown in her to keep that smile in her presence always.
“So Ashley, why don’t you have a girlfriend?”
Ashley was wondering when this question would show up. Her love ‘em and leave ‘em attitude would not likely go over well with Spencer. “I don’t know. I think that I’ve been waiting for someone…. Ashley turned to look directly at Spencer, “…special.”
“Was Gina not …special?”
Oooh…cutting right to the chase was she. Well, she was that night. “No, she wasn’t really. That was just a thing you know.”
“So how many ‘things’ do you have in LA?”
“Jealous, Spence? ….No really right now, just one. And she‘s new to town, just moved here from Ohio. Gorgeous girl, you should meet her,” winking at Spencer.
“Moving kind of fast are we? Maybe I don‘t want to be your ‘thing‘. Maybe you would be my ‘thing‘”, Spencer teased trying to hide her attraction.
Ashley couldn’t deny that she wanted Spencer. She barely knew anything about her except from their conversations but since when did that stop her. “But oh how you would absolutely love being my ‘thing‘. The things that you would get to do… oh…my…,” she joked.
Throughout their teasing, neither had realized that their bodies had naturally moved closer and closer. A silent moment passed between as they stared into each other’s eyes once they realized that they were inches away. There were no words left to say, just expressions. Expressions so telling that it made them both a little nervous at their connection. Ashley’s hand had wandered over to the blonde‘s hand. She found herself lightly caressing the top of it with her fingers still staring in Spencer‘s eyes.
Spencer finally broke the silence leaning closer, “Ashley…” Ashley nearly grabbed her noticing the slight vibrations in her lips that were slightly parted moving towards her. Was it about to happen, a kiss? Was it too soon? Ashley leaned towards Spencer to help close the space. Her body begin to melt feeling the edge of her lips on hers waiting and wanting.
Bam ! Bam! Bam!
Both girls jumped at the sound on the car window breaking their nearly started kiss.
“Whaaaaat’s up! Ashley!”
“Fuck!… Aiden, what the hell? What are you doing here?” Ashley shouted completely annoyed while rolling down the window. Spencer moved back into her seat.
“Catchin’ some early morning waves!” Aiden shouted laughing at himself.
Ashley leaned back and rolled her eyes. Damn, boys always ruin the perfect moments.
