“That’s kind of what I was thinking, Can’t be positive unless we check them out. Go back to each of their apartments and do some snooping.”

“That sounds like a good idea. You three do that and I’ll contact the coven and see if they can pick anything up. Do be careful.” Giles said with concern evident in his voice.

“We always are. Ummm…” Kennedy paused a moment debating on whether to ask her next question or not. Finally, she put her pride aside and decided to go ahead and ask. “Do you think we should put Buffy and Faith on alert? Just in case the girls aren’t girls anymore? I mean… I can handle myself with regular vampires and all but Giles… that girl wasn’t a regular vamp.” Kennedy lowered her voice and turned a little so the others couldn’t hear what she was saying. “She’s a Slayer turned vampire Giles. Do you understand what that means? Slayer AND vampire strength and the urge to kill anything warm blooded. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a little nervous about trying to take her on in a real fight. I think she let me catch her in that ally. She wanted to let me know that she was around.”

“Interesting… yes… I agree that we may have a bigger situation here than I first thought. Now that I’ve had a chance to think on it a bit, I do know of one other time that a vampire attempted to turn a Slayer. But that was… no it can’t be him….” Giles paused in thought and only continued after hearing Kennedy clear her throat. “Let me call the coven before I start putting scenarios in your head. I’ll call and let Buffy know what’s going on and leave it up to her whether to bring Faith in on it as well.”

“OK…sounds good. We’ll get started on checking on the other five girls after I’ve had some sleep. I wouldn’t want to come across one of them and be too tired to fight.”

“Excellent… OH… have Willow work up one of her protection spells while you’re looking around. Any little bit may help.”

“Will do… we’ll be waiting to hear from you.” Kennedy finished her goodbyes and turned to Willow and Dawn. The two sat on the bed anxiously awaiting Kennedy’s words. “Well… we need to go check on the others. Giles may have some idea of who may be doing this, but he wasn’t willing to share. He’s gonna check with the coven and give us a call later. Dawn,” Kennedy addressed the younger girl. “Could you make a list of the names and addresses of the six girls we’ve tested? Make Rebecca last on the list… she’s obviously been turned already. I think maybe we should check in reverse order… you know… the most recent first?”
