    Ash gets used to living at the Carlins – Drew finally makes it to LA – Glen’s life starts to unfray – Clay gets caught – Paula and Arthur start to connect when…………

     

                “She’s not here,” he blared.  Trying to wedge the door closed on Drew.

     

                “Where is she?  Did you put her in foster care?  That would be just like you.  You son of a…,” growled Drew.  She slammed her foot into the door, forcing it open.  “Old man, tell me where she is,” demanded the grey-eyed woman.  Her tanned cheeks were flared with red, her hair tied in a loose ponytail, her anger evident.  Hands flexing at her side, staring at the man, willing him to speak.

     

                “At her girlfriends, leave her alone, she doesn’t n-n-need,” he stammered.  Trying to turn away from the pretty, young woman, but Drew grabbed his arm.

     

                “Oh, like you did?  Screw you, I’m not like you, I never was, and I never will be.  I didn’t bail on, Lee, you did,” stated Drew.

     

                “Oh, you are like me, you left her too.  Don’t come back here, playing all high and mighty with me,” the man wagged a finger at Drew.  “You…,”

     

                Drew cut him off, “I’m here now.  I’m not leaving, and you are NOT going to force me out of her life, again.  I was stupid to believe you!  Stupid, because I believed that Ashley was better off without me,” Drew stepped up to the man, a hand on his silk shirt, “Now, tell me exactly where Ashley is.”

                “Man, I’ll pay you later this week…,” lamented Glen to Victor, the second dealer that Glen had gone to in the last hour.  He didn’t have any money, he’d already sold his I-Pod, and stolen a few bucks from his mother’s purse.  He couldn’t risk any more, or someone would say something.  Yet, he needed that fix, that high that told him he was still the star, that everything was going to be all right.

     

                “Man, this isn’t an IOU kinna operation, if you want some, you got to pay, one way, or another,” the greasy thin man said to him.  Glen gave him an odd look, the Ohio farm boy in him had no clue what he was talking about.

     

                “Huh?”

     

                “You want some, something so premo that it will keep you riding for a week?”  Offered Victor with a sly smile.  They were outside of Grey, in the back alley, where the alley cats were yowling, and the air smelled of year old garbage.

    6. This is obviously me speaking for myself, but the idea of Clay doing ANYTHING sexual is way more gross to me than any kind of parental passion. Awesome chapter.
