    Glen comes home, Spencer tells Ash how she feels – and Drew finally makes it to Ashley’s door step…

     

                Spencer’s face fell, but then she smiled, hand reaching out to find her shirt.  Ashley caressed her face, kissing her gently, and then Spencer nodded, “It’s ok, I understand, but…”

     

                Just then, the doorbell rang.

     

    ~*SoN*~

      

                “Damn it…,” muttered Clay, yanking his boxers back up at the sound of the doorbell.  He typed, Have to go, love you.  He quickly logged off.  Hearing his father and mother exiting their room, he shot a look at the door, praying it was locked this time.

     

                “Is Glen home?”  Clay heard Arthur asking Paula, she opened Glen’s bedroom door.  Clay listened to his parents exiting their room, the doorbell ringing for the second time. 

     

                “No,” answered Paula.

     

                “Damn,” sighed Arthur.

                “Shit!”  Ashley almost yelled.  Spencer got off her quickly, trying desperately not to fall off the couch, struggling into her tee shirt.  Feeling like a trapped rabbit, she darted to the kitchen.  Ashley gave her an odd look.  What was Spencer doing?

     

                Ashley ran out of the den, wanting to silence the ringing doorbell, and coming face to face with Paula, “Hey.” 

     

                Paula gave her an odd look, Ashley looked flustered.  Paula wasn’t sure she wanted to know what Ashley had been up too.  Arthur winked a hello to Ashley.

     

                Arthur yanked open the door, to reveal Glen, with a burly police officer.  “Mr. and Mrs. Carlin, is this your son, Glen?”  Glen was looking down at the ground, hair falling into his eyes.  Ashley forgot about Spencer having just attacked her on the couch.  Instead, she focused on Glen, the way he was fidgeting, moving, and looking overly anxious.  Glen’s eyes darted everywhere, but then Ashley put it off to him standing at his own door, with a police escort.

     

                “Yes, what is going on?”  Paula demanded.  Arms crossing over her chest, and Arthur’s comforting hand at the small of her back.

     

                “We found your son outside of Grey; he doesn’t have a valid driver’s license, due to age and prescription to a controlled substance.  So we drove him in.  His car was towed.  We aren’t going to charge him…,”
