    Twilight Runway

My very first model: Jacob Black.

I sighed heavily as his face entered my mind. Jacob was…different from everyone else. He was special. I had been attracted to him since the first time we met. Kind, gentle, funny… not to mention extremely good looking. Jacob was the only guy who I had ever wanted, despite the fact that he was five years younger than me.

When he first asked me out, I was beyond elated! I wanted so much to agree… but my own stupid, self-righteous principals intervened before my heart could dominate my actions.

“When you’re twenty,” I told him, three years ago, when I myself had just turned twenty-two “and have become my top model. If you still like me, even then…”

I expected him to refuse. Who in the world would accept such an unfair and demanding proposal?

To my surprise, and great joy, he agreed. Even so, I never expected that he would actually last! He was only seventeen. I figured his feelings for me were just a crush.

But here we were, almost three years later, still madly attracted to each other. I never regretted the decision I made to make him wait. Because of it, he had risen to the number one spot in our agency and has kept it for two consecutive years. What’s more is that I wont get arrested for being involved with a minor. Everything would work out.

    I sighed again.

I missed Jake. A lot. And I planned to become completely his on his birthday in three months. Even though we were not officially together, we were still considered a couple to everyone in the agency; that in itself seemed hypocritical on my part. It would be another week until he arrived…I would have to ask someone else to accompany me for to Alice’s play date.

“I need a date!” I snapped loudly, my head still in my arms. I jumped in alarm as someone’s voice answered my request.

“I don’t mind.” He said, his tone nonchalant.

I looked up quickly to see Cullen standing with his arms crossed, his back to the door. He had a huge– obnoxious as always– grin on his face.

I felt myself blush scarlet. I couldn’t believe he just heard something so humiliating!
