When Lovers become Strangers – (Chapter: Part 1)

Jo had gone to the west coast and gained the opportunity to work with the LAPD. While she was out there she dated a multitude of people, both men and women. Her heart had always been with Blair and sleeping with numerous women made her feel hollow and despondent, she craved the body and love of one Blair Warner with each passing day. Jo had all in all given up on women and had given up on hope with relationship when she meant a special man who helped her forgive Blair and her actions. Dr. Bryan Halford, a surgeon who had become smitten with Jo, they had met while she stopped him for a speeding ticket. The handsome young doctor was attentive, a great listener and he understood Jo. Their common interests and their numerous dates helped them realize that they could love one another deeply and have a marriage. As the year passed Jo had felt secure and loved by a man who understood her past and had not wanted to compete with love she had for Blair. They married on a beach in Maui, while on vacation. The spur of the moment desire to marry Bryan was one of the best decisions for Jo, as their son Brody followed nine months later.

As Jo entered the Warner Textiles building, her heart raced. Could she, would Blair even want to see her after all this time? Well Jo, puffed up her chest to gain some confidence.  Just as she was going take a step to the elevator she stopped and turned around towards the door, she was not ready. As she walked out into the street the sun hit her eyes and she was blinded for a moment when a familiar voice spoke. “Well, it took you long enough.” The comment stunned her to look towards the voice. “Blair.” Jo said uneasily as she put on her sunglasses and her eyes focused on Blair Warner.

“Well I guess the saying is true you’re a sight for sore eyes.” Jo mocked dryly. The comment took Blair aback and she was silent. “Well Princess it been a while aren’t you going to invite me to coffee?” Jo found her tongue and wit. “We can go and talk in my office.” Blair replied quickly before thinking. Jo tilted her head and glared at Blair for a moment before she pulled a business card from her pocket. “My new station, if you are ever interested in talking I’ll be there. My cell number is on the back. Maybe we’ll talk one day soon.” With that curt statement she turned on her heel to walk off when Blair grabbed a hold of her arm. “No, right now is good.” Jo took a look at her watch and frowned. “Unfortunately it’s not for me, call me.” Jo loosened herself from Blair and walked the opposite direction to hail a cab; she smiled and waved at Blair who stood on the side walk stunned as she got into the cab.
