    Ashley’s Christmas Eve Surprise…

     

    “Yes, in fact it’s very amusing.  You’re panicking for nothing.”  Kyla waved it off as she leaned into Kasey’s warm body.  The short haired brunette’s arms wrapped themselves delicately around her tiny frame.

     

    Ashley frowned before glancing down at her watch.  “It’s almost show time!  You better get to Spencer’s!”  She pointed toward Kasey who sighed in response.  Kyla kissed the tip of her nose, not wanting to budge from her comfortable position.

    “Hello Mr Carlin, would Spencer be home?”  Kasey asked standing on their veranda.  Arthur smiled brightly while moving aside.  The young girl stepped through the threshold and into the living room.

     

    “Make yourself comfortable Kasey, I’ll go get her.”  He sauntered up the stairs to his daughter’s bedroom.  Moments later the young blonde emerged into the room and took a seat across from Kasey.

     

    “Hey Spenny.  I gotta make this quick or Ashley’s going to maim me.”  Kasey’s visage remained serious as Spencer held back a giggle.

     

    “Ok, what is it?”  She asked.

     

    “She’ll pick you up at five and she wants you dressed to kill.  Good? Good!  I’m out!”  Kasey began to stand however Spencer extended her hand and yelled out.  “Wait!”

     

    “She’s going to be here in an hour?!  Uhh, wait here, I’m gonna go change!”  Kasey sighed, slumping into the sofa.  Spencer always took much too long to change; Kasey would be here for the better part of an hour.

     

    As expected, Spencer remerged from the staircase in a stunning black satin dress forty five minutes later.  The young brunette’s mouth widened as the blonde slowly spun showing off her form.  “I guess I pulled it off.”  Spencer blushed motioning to Kasey’s jaw.

     

    Kasey nodded and brought her fingers to her lips, whistling like a fool.  “Daayyyyum Spenny, you definitely pulled it off.”  The young blonde resumed her position on the chair opposite her companion.

     

    “Thanks..”  She smiled until she remembered exactly what she had been thinking about as she changed.  “I was thinking, I really don’t want them to be alone on Christmas morning.”  Spencer wanted nothing more than to wake up next to Ashley on such a special day.  Her mother wouldn’t allow her to spend the night because of their holiday traditions which involved waking as a family and opening gifts bright and early.

I actually listened to the Elton John song as I read along with the lyrics, which actually made me cry. Wow, your writing is quite simply breathtaking. One of my favorite lines: “No wine, huh?” Spencer grinned. ~ “I know Santa’s making an appearance later, I don’t want to amplify your chances of being on the naughty list tonight.” Ashley winked earning herself a playful tap on the arm before the two of them indulged. – Charming and cute!
