Tina’s tears are now profuse. She gets off the bed to dry her eyes and blow her nose in the bathroom. She is washes her face and returns to the bedroom and sits back on the bed, far from Bette.
Tina: I’m sorry I fell apart on you. I was supposed to be comforting you and I fall apart.
Bette: Tina these are latent doubts and concerns I have; I didn’t even know I had them. From my perspective making love to you is always amazing. However, I cannot accept that same sentiment from you; not yet anyway. The security I used to feel about us isn’t there. With all the wonder and good time we shared we still got there Tina. That dark awful place; our hell. Now we are building a new foundation and I trust that. We are more mature, we communicate better and have our daughter to consider and I think we are more realistic and supportive. What we are building is better than what we had. I want to keep building.
Tina: I want that too Bette. I want to build with you forever.
Bette: For now let’s not change any plans. We’ll still get the tree tomorrow and spend time as a family at the house.
Tina she can’t even say at home anymore.
Bette: Boo deserves Christmas at home and I can do that for my daughter. If I could put up with Franklin all those years surely I can give our little girl some Christmas memories.
Tina: Thank you baby; I want those memories too.
Bette: Now let me catch up with you and get my shower. Let’s go have some breakfast and plan our day.
Bette leans in and kisses Tina ever so slightly on the lips.
Bette: Good morning T. I love you.
Tina reaches for Bette and hugs her around the waist; savoring the moment.
Tina: I love you Bette. No matter what demons you fight; know that I love you.
Bette: I believe that T, If I didn’t believe that we would not be here.
Tina releases Bette and Bette heads to the shower. Tina is now rethinking her gift to Bette and is frantic that she needs to find something for the love of her life. She knows a set of webcams would never do to show her love and appreciation to Bette. Tina gets dressed, leaves Bette a note to take her time and meet her in the lobby. She heads down to the concierge to get the low down on a great place for breakfast and some shopping. Not only does she have her work cut out with Bette’s heart, she had to find a Christmas gift and get it purchased with Bette right by her side.
Tina: Bette has always been able to surprise you and do the impossible so now it’s your turn. Woo your woman Tina, you let her go, now do the work to bring her home again for good.
Tina turns to see a very casually dressed Bette ready for their day together.
Tina: You look great baby.
Bette: Thanks T, it feels good to wear some of my California clothes again.
Tina: Well, I’ve got a great table waiting for us for breakfast.
She grabs Bette’s hand, kisses her on the cheek and they head out to start their day

Hard to see them crying but it is the way to heal an fight their demons. Tina needs to constantly show her love to Bette as that might help Bette gain her trust in Tina’s love back.

Wondered when and if that would happen. Glad it is now out in the open and dealt with. Tina doesn’t need the perfect gift for Bette, just the love and faith to Bette that she is her forever love, and no one else. Tina just needs to woo Bette and her way back into Bette’s heart. I loved it Lwsho! You know, I don’t think it is a matter of Bette “forgiving” Tina, I think that she already has. Bette has to learn to trust Tina again as Tina had to learn to trust Bette again after her indescretion. Neither of them are perfect or without fault in the demise of their relationship and they both know it. I think what they are doing, the talking, not running away, meeting everything head on is the way they both will find their way back to each other. This is Bette and Tina “earning” each other’s trust again. Waiting for the next post again!
This is my first time making comments on your story, thanks for your fanfic, I like it because it shows more understanding on Bette’s feelings and behaviours. A unique empathetic view for Bette and it is different from many other fanfics.

at least no one ran… they talked it out no matter how painful it was… and buying the “PERFECT” gift is not the answer… bette needs to feel her love… no “GIFT” will show her that… tina has the heart to give her… thats what bette wants… great job… pps

Tina does have her work cut out for her. Bette’s nightmares are very painful. Tina needs to convince Bette that she is not using her and going to leave her again. AWESOME post.
Wow, they still have a lot to wrk through. Yeah Tina needs to step up her game. But Bette has to forgive on her own and know that she is enough.

Great chapter. I don’t like it when Bette has to suffer but it were more than unrealistic if there were only a smooth path back. In moments like this where Bette can’t cover her feelings or even try to only show a bearable part of the pain she felt will bring them forward more quickly to fully trust each other and get over the hurt.
