Bette had set the alarm for 5am, which seemed to come even earlier than that after their late night.
Bette: Right at this moment the parade does not seem like a great idea. Cuddling with you is so much more appealing.
Tina: Yea that does sound good, but the parade will be so much fun.
Bette: Well we definitely need to shower, so let’s do it together.
Tina: That would be a great way to wake up.
Bette: T, I said shower, that’s it.
Tina: I know we don’t have time for more than that. I’ll go start the water and you go peek in on Kit.
Bette: I’ll be there in a flash.
Bette slowly opens the guest room door after knocking. Kit is sound asleep and Bette didn’t have the heart to wake her. She’d do that after showering. She joins Tina in the shower where they are mostly business like: shower and get out. They of course can help but share a few kisses along the way.
Bette: I’m going to wake Kit; I didn’t have the heart before she works so hard and sleeping so soundly.
Tina: Bring the baby back here on your way. I’ll bathe her while you get dressed do Kit can use the hall bathroom.
Bette: Kit, time to get up sis. Happy New Year!
Kit: Umm, good morning sis and Happy New Year. I set my alarm, but it didn’t go off. What time is it?
Bette: About 5:30 or so now. We had planned to leave at about 6. You can use the hall bath and coffee is brewing Tina put some towels on the chair for you yesterday, do you need anything else?
Kit: Yea, about 3 more hours.
Bette: Well I’m right there with you, but I’m driving so I better wake the hell up already. I’m really glad you decided to come last night and are coming today. It’ll be nice to share this with you.
Kit: See there you go getting all mushy on me again.
Bette: Well, it takes one to know one. Now get up before T comes after us both.
Kit: OK mom, just 5 more minutes.
Bette: Hey, I’ve done my part, Next time this door opens it’ll be Tina and I won’t be able to save you.

Very nicely done – the apprehension was palpable, but it didn’t ruin the last day. You also write Angelica perfectly – she is such an integral part of them coming together, and I love the attention you pay to the little Angelica details that contribute to B & T bonding. Example – teaching Angel to say the animal names – adorable. PPS!

I lob this story ( as Angie would say). Long distance relationships are hard to keep, but please make this one work. Great update.
You know what Lwsho…you can never write too many pages for me. Contrary to Ilene’s belief, there are lots of us that enjoy observing Bette and Tina in a happy, healthy relationship and don’t need a ton of drama to keep coming back. What she never learned was that the entertainment was Bette and Tina! Great update…the only way you can top that one is with another one.
I was a wonderful update and loved the long chapter. Loved Angie asking for her kises too when her mom’s were greeting each other. They have a lot of work to do but loved them wearing their rings again. The complete commitment is not far away. Thanks for posting.
