“Pretty much the same as you.” Jessie replies and smiles.

Bette and Julia walks in.

“What’s with the hug?” Bette asks as she walks up behind Tina and place her hand on Tina’s head, running her fingers through her hair.

“Jessie made Valedictorian.” Tina says and smiles.

“Wow, Jessie, that’s wonderful.” Bette also gives Jessie a hug. “I’m so proud of you.” She adds.

Julia looks on and gets a little sad. She sees the bouncer and lay Andrea down in it and walks into the bathroom. Tina sees it.

“I’ll be right back.” She says and walks after Julia.

Bette and Jessie are still hugging.

Tina knocks on the bathroom door.

“Julia, honey, can I come in?” She asks.

“Sure.” Julia says and unlocks the door.

She’s crying a little and wiping a few tears.

“Come here.” Tina says and pulls her into a hug. “Jessie told me.” Tina says.

Julia backs away.

“She WHAT?” Julia asks a little angry.

“Bette doesn’t know. I’m not going to tell her… You wanna talk about it?” Tina asks.

Julia takes a seat on the toilet and Tina sits down on the bathtub.

“I’ve been trying so hard, but that course is difficult. Math isn’t for me. Jessie’s been trying to help me, I’ve had tutors trying to help me, but I can’t seem to get it.” Julia says. “And now I won’t be able to graduate. I’ll disappoint mom.” Julia says and starts crying again.

“She won’t be disappointed, surprised maybe, but not disapointed, you did your best. That’s all she can ask for. You’ll try again next semester, and if you want, I’ll help you. I took that class in college.” Tina says and smiles.

“You would do that?” Julia asks.

“Yes. We’ll work out a schedule when the time comes.” Tina says and smiles.

“Thank you.” Julia says and stands up. Tina also stands up and Julia gives her a hug.

“Why don’t we go out and tell Bette.” Tina suggests and takes Julia’s hand.

“Okay.” Julia says and smiles.

They walk out and into the kitchen. They are all seated.

“Where did you go?” Bette asks.

Tina takes a seat next to Bette and Julia sits down next to Jessie.

“Julia has something she wants to tell you. But you have to promise not to be angry.” Tina says and looks into Bette’s eyes.

“Okay, I promise.” Bette says and looks from Tina then to Julia. Tina give Julia a comforting smile and a ‘go ahead’ nod.

“Well, mom.” Julia starts.
