“Hey, Kate, is he by any chance free?” Tina asks.

“Yes, you’re lucky. Paul and his mom didn’t show up.” Kate says.

“Oh, great. Could you plot me in there?” Tina asks.

“Sure. I’ll check if he’s ready.” Kate says and stand up and walk into his office. She comes back moments later. ”You can go in.” Kate says and smiles.

“Thank you Kate.” Tina replies and walks into Doctor’s office.

“Hey, Tina, what brings you by?” Dr. Daniels says.

“This little guy.” Tina says and looks at Noah in her arms. He sees the doctor and his white coat. He starts to cry. “Oh sweetie, it’s okay. We’re here to take care of your booboo. He won’t hurt you.” Tina says in a soft voice. Dr. Daniels looks a little confused.

“He’s scared of men in white coats. He had leukaemia and during his time in the hospital, which was months, he took a hating for the doctors.  Especially after the bone marrow test, which was very painful for him. So he’s scared every time he sees a man in a white coat, thinking that he will hurt him.” Tina explains the situation.

“Oh okay. So what is the matter with him now?” Dr. Daniels asks.

“He woke up in the middle of the night with a stomach ache. He didn’t sleep for the rest of the night. Just whimpering. Since the cancer, he’s learned to live with the pain. So he becomes silent. As if he tries to relax. I just want to have it checked out. He’s had stomach aches before, but not for so long.” Tina says. Noah calms down.

“Okay, let’s see then, shall we?” Dr. Daniels says and motion for Tina to take a seat.

“Where do you want him?” Tina asks.

“He can sit in your lap for now, if that makes him feel safer.” Dr. Daniels says.

“Okay.” Tina replies and turns Noah, so he’s sitting, facing the Dr. Daniels.

“I’m just gonna touch you stomach. Can I do that?” He asks.

Noah nods yes.

“Thank you.” Dr. Daniels says and smiles. Tina lift up his shirt. She holds his hands.

He checks it out. It doesn’t seem to bother Noah. After a few minutes Dr. Daniels stops.
