“Are you sure you wont mind?” Bette asks, standing up and walking up to Tina, putting her arms around her waist, facing each other.
“No, I don’t mind. It’s your business, and you’ve been away from it for a long time. All though I know Lara has kept it going, I understand why you want to check in.” Tina says and smiles as she put her arms around Bette’s neck. They look into each others eyes.
“It will only be for a couple of hours maximum. I promise.” Bette says.
“Okay. You know the center has a open day today. Lot’s of activities for the kids to do. And also raising awareness for children, drug use, weapon use. Maybe we could go there later. You could maybe meet us there?” Tina asks.
“Sure. Where you suppose to be there today?” Bette asks.
“Yes, and no. You guys comes first. I told them that I probably wouldn’t make it. But that I might stop by.” Tina says.
“Babe, you should’ve told me. You can still go, I don’t have to go in today. I could do it tomorrow.” Bette says.
“No, baby, you go today. I’ll take the kids down to the center. They’ll have a good time.” Tina says.
“Are you sure? I could take Andrea off your hand.” Bette suggests.
“You don’t have to, there will be kids her age there too.” Tina says.
“I don’t mind. I’ve missed her. I would be happy to take her. I won’t do any working, I’ll only check in with everyone.” Bette says.
“Okay, take her. But baby, please promise me you’ll drive carefully, I don’t care if you make a huge line of cars behind you, don’t ever go above the speed limit. Okay?” Tina says in a serious tone.
“I won’t. I will never go above the limit ever again, not that I did that the last time, but I understand what you mean.” Bette says and looks seriously into Tina’s eyes. Both leans in and kisses each other. Again the boys cheer them on.
“We have to do this in private from now on.” Bette whispers to Tina as they break apart.
“Yeah. Or when they’re not looking.” Tina says and chuckles.
“We should get the day started. The faster I get out of here, the faster I can join you again.” Bette says and smiles as she leans in and places one more kiss on her wife’s lips. They part and Bette takes Andrea and carries her into the bathroom.
