    A day at the beach

“How do you know so much about the 70’s Alice? We were just a little kid back then.” Tina asks knowing Alice was just a few months older than her.

“You know me I know something about everything. When you spend your adult life writing ‘top ten lists’ you come across a lot of useless trivial information. What can I say?”

“I love the idea too.” Jamie joins in. She likes that Alice is so down to earth even with her celebrity. “We need to get a DJ that has that type of music. Kit do you know any bands that do 70’s retro music?”

“Most of the bands I know can play anything. You let me handle that.” Kit assures them.

“You know I just thought of someone that could do the Casino games. Tasha’s friend Eva Torres they call her Papi. She taught me and a bunch of other girls how to play poker. I think she also knows a DJ; Carmen something. I can give her a call if you want.”

“That would be great Al. You’re really getting into this.”

“Well it’s for a good cause, and it’ll give me something to do.” Alice and Jamie smile at each other. Tina can’t help but notice that they seem to be flirting a bit.

Bette and Angie drove to the beachfront property in the Saab with the top down. They had been coming out to check on the progress of the renovations for a couple of weeks. Tina and Bette had told Angie about their plans to move the following year and they took her to the building to see where her room would be located once the renovation was done.

Initially she was upset about leaving her friends and school but they assured her that she would see her friends and family regularly and that her friends Suzie and Jackie could come out and spend weekends with them. Bette parked the car and helped Angie out of her booster seat. They walked hand in hand into the building. Bette spotted the onsite manager and walked over.

”Hey Ms. Porter and Miss. Kennard-Porter good morning.”

    ”Good morning Joanie.”

”Good morning Ms. Joanie.” Angie said politely still holding on to her mother’s hand.
