    A day at the beach

”Joanie we just popped in for a minute to see how things are going. You guys seemed to have made a lot of progress since last week.”

”Yeah. Everything is right on schedule. We have a couple extra hands with the summer interns and a lot of the material that we ordered is starting to come in so you’ll see it moving along pretty quickly now. You want me to show you around?”

    ”Yeah that would be great.”

”Hey Lil Bit come get your hard hat.”

Joanie and Angie had become fast friends after the first time she put a hard hat on her so they could tour the gallery area. There really was no need for it today but Angie got a kick out of wearing it. Bette held Angie’s hands as they walked through the different sections. Joanie gave them the tour and showed Bette samples of the material that had been delivered and made sure that everything met with her approval and was as agreed to.

”Joanie everything looks great. It’s exactly what Yolanda and I agreed on. Your team is doing a tremendous job. Thank you for your attention to detail. The quality of the workmanship is really showing through.”

”It’s our pleasure Ms. Porter. I’m glad you are pleased.”

”Very much so. Listen I’ll be out of town for the next two weekends so I’ll check back on the third Saturday of the month. However, I’ll be accessible by cell phone is anything comes up in the meantime OK?”

”That’ll work. We should have quite a bit more done by the time you get back. Hey kiddo let’s get that hat off OK.” Joanie takes the hard hat off Angie’s head and says good-bye to Bette and Angie.

They leave the building and go back to the car for their beach blanket, picnic basket and Frisbee. Bette and Angie find a spot on the beach that isn’t too populated. They lay down the blanket and picnic basket and toss the Frisbee back and forth for a while.

Bette loves these moments with her daughter. She can’t believe how fast she’s growing up. She would be turning seven in another couple of weeks. Bette and Tina were flying to Monterey with Angie, Suzie, and Jackie on the following Saturday and then making the two hour drive with Lisa and the kids to the campsite. Both Suzie’s moms and Jackie’s moms had agreed to have Bette and Tina escort their daughters but they promised that they would attend the birthday party the following weekend.

Bette and Angie stayed at the beach for a couple of hours. They ate the picnic lunch that Bette had prepared then they headed back to West Hollywood. Angie accompanied Bette to the grocery store, the liquor store, and Bath and Body Works to get everything that Bette needed for her special night with Tina. Once they got home they put all the groceries away and got washed up.

Bette dropped Angie and Riley off at the Planet where Kit would watch them, then take them home to spend the night at her house. Bette then headed home to prepare dinner for her and Tina’s special date night.
