    Bette opened her eyes to see her children standing next to her bed. She had long since gotten used to this slightly eccentric behavior from them and no longer jumped from it. Devon, Graham and Clara were standing on the right side of her bed.

    Is there something that I can help you with, Bette asked getting up on her elbows

    Its Saturday.

    Was there something special about today that I didnt know about?

    You told us that today would be a day of fun, Graham started

    And we want to spend that money and get those gifts that you bribed us with, said Devon

    Rolling her eyes Bette flopped back down on her bed closing her eyes, Fine but can we do that a little later when Im actually awake and all?

    Sure thing mom, Devon commented grabbing his brother and leaving the room leaving Clara remaining

    Bette opened one eye to see Clara standing next to the bed with a pensive look on her face. Opening her other eye Bette sat up, What is it sweetling?

    Clara climbed into bed with her mother and burrowed herself into the covers. Now Bette was getting worried. Pulling the blanket up she looked at her daughter who was nestled at her side.

    What is it Clara? You know you can tell me anything.

    Clara sat up and stared at her mother. Taking in a deep breath she spoke, I have to tell you something and I dont want you to freak out okay?

    Bette frowned at this, When you start a conversation with I dont want you to freak out it freaks me out.

    Clara looked down at her hands, Im sorry. I cant do this right now.

    She got up and headed toward the bedroom door.

    Were you trying to tell me that you slept with Rob, Bette called out stopping her daughter in her tracks, Or that youre pregnant with his child?

    Clara slowly turned around to see her mother staring at her evenly. She didnt seem to be angry or upset or even happy. Her face was completely neutral, which scared Clara.

    1. I’m glad Tina had the urge to do that. I’d have thought she’d have done that while at her house, but maybe she didn’t want to freak out Bette. Then again, kissing her in public is possibly more chance for a freak-out. Still, I’m glad she did that.
