A night at Milk
“You ready,” I asked Tina as we got to the door. She nodded her head nervously as we made our way in. It was really crowded and the girls were excited. I reached back and grabbed Tina’s hand, she was already getting some looks from the women there. A couple women even came up to her and tried to offer her a drink. I kept my hand glued to hers so everyone knew she was with me.
“Oh my God, there are so many people here,” she exclaimed once we got to our VIP booth.
“There are always a lot of people here, this is the best gay club in all West Hollywood,” Alice exclaimed.
“The VIP booth is nice.”
“Yeah since I’m such a frequent customer, they let me use it,” Shane said.
“Lies,” Alice exclaimed, “you got it because you were fucking the club owner and she offered it to you when you tried to end things so you’d keep coming around.”
“Alice,” Shane exclaimed, throwing a look at Lara.
“Oh please she’d figure you out in a second,” Alice mumbled.
“Hey ladies how are we,” we heard and turned to see Dana.
“Hey Doc,” Shane exclaimed.
“Hey,” I say and hug her.
“Tina I never thought I’d see you here.”
“Well, I was hanging out with Bette and I’m alone this weekend so I tagged along,” she said and laughed nervously.
“Don’t worry you’ll be fine, we won’t tell Eric you were playing on the dark side” she said and her focus went to Lara, “and who is this?”
“I’m Lara,” she said lunging forward with her hand out; she didn’t even give Shane a chance to introduce her.
“Hi Lara, I’m Dana,” she said shaking your hand.
“I know who you are,” she said and grinned.
“Oh really,” Dana said and looked at me, I shrugged.
“Yeah! You were an all-star tennis player at UCSB. My sister raved about you when she went there; she took me to your matches.”
“Sweet Jesus, I was great until I fucked my knee up. Good thing I had a backup plan.”
“You’re the reason why I applied at the hospital,” Lara said and Dana grinned.
“Damnit,” Shane said, as she saw the interaction.
“I’ll say,” Alice exclaimed, “I need a fucking drink.”
