    ”Mr. Leland? I’m sorry. I can not accept your offer. The board knows I want this facility and need this facility. I have been Head of the Oncology department here for almost six years. That’s my vision and my passion. I have patients coming from all over the country just to have me treat them because I can prolong their life and also if things go accordingly also put them into remission. Cancer is not going away anytime soon and I have several studies lined up and courses of treatments and trials that I would like to try but I can’t without that facility. So I’m sorry Mr. Leland. You will have to find someone else”

    ”Tina? Think about what you are doing here. This is Chief of Staff. We are offering you a base salary of $135,000 a year plus bonuses.”

    Tina got up from her desk, walked over to the door, and opened it. ”Thank you Mr. Leland but if you’ll excuse me I need to go get scrubbed in”

    Mr. Leland got up from his chair and grabbed his cellphone and began dialing much to Tina’s annoyance.

    ”Mr. Parker? Leland here. I spoke with Dr. Kennard and she specifically asks that you provide her with that Cancer research facility or she passes on the Chief of Staff position… Yes sir….Yes sir…….Of course….Yes sir……I’m not sure……..No sir……….Mr Parker? Are you there?……..Yes sir. Ok I’ll tell her”

    After ending his call Mr. Leland turned around and walked toward Tina.

    ”I must have caught him in a very good mood because he wants you at the meeting tomorrow to meet with the architect to design your Cancer research facility. We will meet in the board room at 9am” Mr. Leland stated as he passed by Tina on his way out.

    Tina with her mouth agape took a moment to comprehend what she had just heard before snapping out of her shock.

    ”Mr. Leland!” Tina called out as Leland turned around and walked back to her. ”Are you saying he said yes?”

    Leland nodded his head

    ”Why?” Tina asked softly

    ”He simply said you are the one he wants to head the staff at the new medical center and if that means building your cancer research facility then he will make it happen. Be at the meeting at 9am so we can get with the architect. We need the figures. Have a good day Dr. Tina Kennard Chief of Staff of Westwood Medical Center” Mr. Leland answered and smiled as he turned and headed down the hall.

      It is always a pleasure to see new writers and i must admit your first chapter is awesome.
      Alice always make me laugh, she is one crazy woman! And i suspect there will be many clashes between Bette&Tina, but the acctraction is already there.

      You catched my attention and i will defiantly follow your story!
