A TiBette Love Story: The Girl In The Black Burberry (2)

Just like many times before, the women gathered at one of their favorite hangouts The Planet.  It was a lazy, late Sunday morning and they were at their usual table in the corner, sharing breakfast and conversation.

Bette was filling the girls in on what happened the day before at the gallery.

Alice was gripping her coffee mug tightly, hanging on to every detail Bette was providing.

Dana listened to Bette’s story with a small smile on her face.

Shane tried her best to down some coffee to nurse her hangover but listened carefully to what Bette had to share.

“So I placed the coat on her and she took off into the rain….”  Bette’s story about the encounter with the mysterious blonde had come to an end.  She prepared herself for the onslaught of questions…well, mainly the grand inquisition by reporter extraordinaire, Alice Piesnecki.

Of course, Alice was the first to begin.  “Okay, so for someone as smooth as we all know you are…why did you greet the blonde with such hostility again?”

Bette had a grimace on her face.  “Hell, I thought it was YOU at the door!”

Alice giggled, “Oh yeah.”  She holds up her hands in innocence.  “But you can’t blame this on me…we weren’t even in the vicinity!”

“You just have this way of appearing…frequently,” Bette sighed, realizing she probably didn’t leave the best first impression on the blonde who had remained in her head.

Shane examined the look on Bette’s face.  It was a look Shane had never witnessed before.  It expressed a mixture of anxiety and promise.  “What is it about this woman that caught your attention?”

“Even at this very moment, I cannot fully comprehend the situation,” Bette began.  “I mean, she was obviously attractive.  In that brief instant, there was an undeniable chemistry.  But there was just so much more to her…”

Alice grins and gestures a ‘big breasts’ with her hands.  “Like double Ds?”

Bette rolls her eyes at Alice.  “Anyway, she just seems so different from the regular We Ho crowd.”  Bette thinks back to the meeting with the blonde.  “She seemed…so genuine…and so sweet.”

“Awww,” Dana gushes.  “I like the part when she asked ‘what about you?’ when you gave her the jacket.”

    1. great update. I think anyone who is talented enough to write has a special ability to put themselves into the characters. I am always in awe of how someone can put down words in a story and make others go through a whole range of emotions. It is really an art form.

    2. that’s the spirit, bette! u will see the blonde soon…how soon??? hopefully in the next chapter! :) love the gang scenes and shane’s “cluelessness” in the fashion world. :) keep posting!
