    “Grandchildren?”

“Sweetie you know you are a second daughter to me. Nothing would make me happier.”

“Thank you Peggy. I can’t express how much that means to me. With both my parents deceased it always saddened me to think that my children would not get to experience having doting grandparents. My only hope is that the woman I marry has parents that would be accepting of our lifestyle and would want to be a part of our children’s lives.”

“Well it won’t be the same as if your parents were alive but I promise your children will have a grandmother that loves them. However I’m not getting any younger so don’t make me wait too long.”

    “No pressure OK?”

“No pressure. You’ll know when the right one comes along.”

    Bette wasn’t very hopeful.

“I better let you go Peggy. Helena’s waiting.”

“Yes she is but she’s occupied on the computer pulling some information for our meeting. Since she’ll be in living in Los Angeles maybe I can get her to come to the exhibit. I think it’s time you two met.”

“From what you’ve told me Peggy it doesn’t sound like she’d be interested in the exhibit or meeting me.”

“It doesn’t hurt to ask Bette.”

“Fine. I’ll include her on the invitation.”

“OK. I better go. I’ll talk to you soon. Give my regards to James will you. I love you.”

“I will. Love you too Peggy. I’ll call you next week. Bye.”

    “Bye love.”

After ending the call Peggy turned her attention to Helena.

“Hello Helena. Sorry to keep you waiting. That was Bette on the phone.”

“I gathered as much. So you’re off to Los Angeles again?”

“Yes she has an upcoming private exhibit and artist dinner for a new talent that she’s showcasing. She’s also met Tina Kennard from Shaolin Studios.”

    “Really. How did they meet?”

“Apparently Ms. Kennard is the artist’s best friend and housemate. I know how you feel about art functions darling but Bette is including you on the invitation for the artist dinner and private exhibit. It would mean a lot to me if you would accept. You’re going to be in Los Angeles anyway. I think you and Bette should meet. You’ll need to make new friends in the states. Bette is a good person to know. Besides it’s time you start taking an interest in the arts as you will someday be overseeing the Peabody Arts Foundation.”

    1. I dislike this version of Helena. When she is disowned and then finds redemption, she is a much more likable person. You’re writing this story so wonderfully. Please PS.

    2. Your Authors Note to us Tibetters noted but my response to the last sentence was – so what! When you Love all things are possible with effort!

I would like Helena a little softer. Perhaps that’s because I’m a Brit and got to like her after she took her hooks from Tina.?

      Always loved Peggy!

Liking the story and await next instalment.

    3. This was an interesting chapter. I liked it.
I’m glad that we saw little better what Peggy and Helena’s relationship, although it was not a surprise: not a model mother-daughter relationship.
I agree with the others, I don’t like this Helena. The compassionate and considerate Helena much more sympathetic to me! This the arrogant and competitive not. Bad enough that Ilene so shaped Helena’s character: always competitive and envious with Bette. But I think they’re more different personalities.
Helena goes after Tina… Poor Tina doesn’t know what will hit her :)
I look forward to the next chapter.

    4. Like Bette I think Helena’s ‘alpha’ character also suffered an injustice and character assassination by the writers when she was transformed from such a formidable persona into a pathetic drunk, sex slave to Catherine and an emotional wreck after the fiasco with Dylan. I didn’t like any version of Helena and I hated what she did to Bette and how Tina changed when she was with Helena. Helena’s appearance changed the tide of the show. Her character’s introduction of debauchery and immorality took away any respectability that I had for Tina and in my opinion for the entire show as the storylines became more degrading. Then her personality change was so drastic it was as if they wrote a new character into the story but kept the same actress and the same name to play a different role. The Helena in this story is reflective of the ‘scum of earth’ even worse than she was on the show, but she does find redemption eventually. I hope my version rings a bit truer when you see the change. Thank you for reading.
