After All This Time – Chapter 2

Tina pulled up in the driveway of her new house. It was like the house she had shared with Bette but then without the front steps and the yard was smaller without a pool. She got out of her vehicle and walked to her front door but before she reached it, she heard a familiar voice.

“Tina Kennard?!” Alice had just been walking down the street when she saw the familiar blonde.

Tina turned around and saw Alice standing on the sidewalk.

“Alice!” She said, smiling. She walked over to her old friend.

“Don’t you Alice me. Porter has been crying since you left her in the park, just so you know. You really have to talk to her, give her some answers. She doesn’t hate you, which I don’t understand, she just hates your actions; those include taking away her daughter. She didn’t deserve this. She cheated on you, yes, but that was like a million years ago…”

Tina stood there in front of Alice looking at the ground like a child.

“Al, I’m not proud of what I’ve done…”

“No, I hope not. Tina, Bette has set her life on hold since you left. She doesn’t date, she eats almost nothing, and she has lost weight…”

“I know, Alice, I know… I want to talk to her but I figured that a park wasn’t the ideal place…”

“If you want to talk to her then do it ASAP.”

“Yeah… Uhm… where does she live now?”

“Tina, I just told you she put her life on hold. She still lives in the old house.” Alice rolled her eyes.

“Okay, Al. I will go over there in an hour and ask her if she wants to come to my house tonight.”

“Okay then… Look, Tina, I still see you as a friend and I still love you but I’ve seen Bette being miserable the last 5 years and it really has to stop.”

“I know, Al. I know…” Tina felt so guilty. She couldn’t hold back tears anymore. She began to cry. Alice sighed and hugged Tina.

“I feel so guilty, Al. I can’t believe I’ve been so heartless.”

Alice didn’t respond, she just held Tina.

    ——

Bette was sitting inside her house on the couch, staring at a point far away when suddenly she heard someone knocking on the door. She sighed and opened the door.  She couldn’t breathe for a second. There she was… Tina, the woman that she loved and craved.

“Hi.” Bette managed to get out.

    “Hey…” Tina looked down.

“You want to come in?” Bette asked her former lover.

“Uhm, yeah, that would be nice.” Bette stepped aside and Tina walked in. For Tina, it was like being catapulted back in time. The house looked exactly the same.

    “You want to sit down?”

“Yes.” Tina sat on the couch. Memories flooded back in her mind. Sitting here with Bette’s arms around her, kissing, making love… all on this couch.

“What brought you here?” Bette asked.

“I… I want to talk to you… About… what happened.” Tina said.

    “Sure, I would love that.”

“Maybe tonight, at my place? “

Bette sighed. “Does it really matter if we talk about it now or tonight, Tina?”

    “No… No, it doesn’t. You are right…”

“Where do we start?” Bette asked.

    1. Great start on this story, hopefully they can really talk it out and eventually start on the road to recovery and perhaps getting back together? Please post soon (I mean reeeeeeally soon )

    2. The story is great for it’s idea! If there was a sixth star it would be my choice for the story. The problem is that I don’t like how weak is Bette or how could you have Alice talk about Bette like this. It’s nothing to do with Alice. Now I can be accused for not knowing how to love completely, but you have to earn my forgiveness. It’s just how I live my life and I expect from myself what I expect from others (probably I am more demanding with me). I said all this because wanting someone back after taking away my child and leaving with someone else (man or woman, I don’t give a fly. It wouldn’t be easier if Tina had left with Helena), no matter how much I loved them I wouldn’t take them back in a blink of an eye. No matter how shitty Tina’s life have been with Henry I don’t know how this has anything to do with Bette. Bette’s main focus should be Angelica and not Tina. So, althought you have a great story, I don’t like the way the characters react. And since I’m a bit angry with your characters, my choice for the stars would be minus if I had the choice. But because you don’t like less than four to your stories, I won’t touch the rating. But I said to you before, remove the choice from your list or take the rating like a big girl. Anyway, I guess it’s your story and your characters and I want to see where you are taking them so don’t be mad because of my comment, I have the right to tell my opinion!

    3. If I were in your shoes I wouldn’t pay much attention to theo’s comment. She is more mad with me than with your story! ;)But I’m with her for the rating part. If you don’t like the rating being less than four stars you can remove them. As for the characters, I don’t know if I like the fact that Bette has no pride left. She acts like a lost puppy. Don’t get me wrong, I would be the same devastating mess if I was her, but I believe that I would have some pride left to at least not show it that much. And since I don’t like Alice much, you can understand that telling all these shits about Bette to someone who hurt Bette so much is not my favourite part.

    4. hey love the story but I must admit I am glad they did not go this route in the show…that could have been a show stopper for me..anyway can’t wait for this next disucssion

    5. Loving the story. I’m mad with Tina because she didn’t forget Bette, but decided to stay with Henry all of these years. I want Bette strong to deal with Tina’s back and the first question that Tina needs to answer is that Angelica is not Henry’s daughter; to give Bette some hope! Please, update soon

    6. i do love your story but, i have to agree w/ theotlv and lizmar, bette seems to lost all her pride after tina left her. and i dont’ expect her reaction upon seeing tina who took her daughter away from her. and alice, i can’t believed she reveal bette’s life for five years…. I just felt like it’s so out of character for alice to go behind bette….But i do love this story…please continue.
