Alice – Milady …
She hands the napkin to the brunette and lowers her voice.
Alice – I suggest you wipe the drool off your face before your secret is out.
Bette’s smile fades. She bites her lower lip and leans back on her chair looking a little embarrassed.

The Planet, late morning: Bette, Tina and Alice are eating.
Alice – So … are you two u-hauling yet?
Tina – U … what?
Bette – U-hauling … It’s a joke in the lesbian community that lesbians move in together way too quickly.
Alice – Yep, on the second date and it is no joke!
Bette – No, we are not u-hauling, Miss Nosy!
Alice squints and takes a bite of her pancakes.
Tina – We just started dating! Eric and I dated for almost five months and didn’t move in together.
Alice – That’s strictly a dyke thing. It doesn’t apply to hets.
Tina smiles and shakes her head.
Tina – It’s crazy!
Bette – And besides … Tina hasn’t even told her parents yet.
Alice – Umm … I’ll ask you again in a month.
The two girlfriends look at each other amused.

The Planet, late morning: Bette leaves the restroom and walks toward her table but she is stopped by a petite blonde, who grabs her arm. They seem to know each other and the petite blonde won’t let go of her arm while they speak. The brunette looks embarrassed and points to her table.
Tina and Alice are eating their meals when they notice the exchange. Alice turns to the producer.
Alice – Do you see why your secret cannot last forever? They still think that she is single.
Tina smiles and takes a bite of her omelet.
Alice – I had the same problem when Bette and I started dating.
The producer raises her eyebrows and Alice speaks in a confessional tone.
Alice – Too many women wanting a piece of her. Can you blame them?
Bette is finally able to untangle herself from the petite blonde and heads to her table.
Tina – You and … Bette … dated?!
Alice – Yep! She didn’t tell you?
The producer looks a little shocked.
Bette – What are you telling her?
Alice – She dumped me … but obviously she couldn’t live without me, so we became best friends.
Tina chuckles and the brunette shakes her head.
Alice – But don’t worry … I’m in love with someone else!
Bette – With the flavor of the month …
The producer looks amused.
Tina – You two are cute together.
Bette and Alice share a surprised look and turn back to her.
Alice and Bette – Cute??
They speak in unison.
Tina laughs at the two friends.

I think Tina’s father may be more acceptable than her mother when Tina would tell them the truth about Bette and her.

Loving this….Tina is so smitten. Bette seams to be allowing Tina to set the tempo for the relationship. Two nights in a row in Bette’s bed after a month of pursuit. Nice…. Bette has been amazingly patient. Tina’s parents being in North Carolina, it could take several months before they are told about Tina’s new relationship.
Keep the chapters coming…. great story so far.

It seems Mr. Kennard already figured out that his daughter likes Bette more than alone as friend. Glad to hear him say to Tina that she will always be his daughter.
It is important that Tina takes the time and Bette let her, to come out to her friends and parents.

Thanks for posting! I love your version of T + B’s beginning but I’m still anxious about Tina’s parents and their reaction to their daughter being in a relationship with a woman..
