    The blonde smiles.

    Tina – That’s it! We are going to live together!

    Meg grins.

    Meg – Oh … my … God!

    Bette’s office, afternoon: Bette is at her desk when Alice shows up.

    Alice – Hey …

    Bette looks up.

    Bette – Just about time … My stomach is doing somersaults.

    Alice – Sorry … I got tied up this morning.

    The brunette smirks.

    Bette – This morning or last night?

    Alice feigns annoyance.

    Alice – One of these days I’m going to teach Tina all about knots and handcuffs …

    Bette has a sly smile on her face.

    Alice – Ah … you see? With the right person, nothing seems weird!

    The brunette smiles softly.

    Bette – I have something to tell you …

    Alice – What? You already bought handcuffs?

    Bette – No … something serious …

    Her friend looks intrigued.

    Alice – What?

    Bette – Tina and I … we are moving in together.

    Alice grins with excitement.

    Alice – Nice! Oh my God … great!

    She hugs her friend tightly.

    Alice – Congratulations, lovebird! I saw a u-haul in your future the first time I saw the two of you together.

    Bette smiles warmly.

    Bette – Thanks!

    Alice – When is the wedding?

    Bette – There won’t be a wedding.

    Alice looks disappointed.

    Alice – What?! No wedding?! You are going to deny me the honor of being the best woman?

    The brunette smirks.

    Bette – How do you know you would be the best woman?

    Alice – Because you wouldn’t dare invite anyone else!

    Bette chuckles.

    Alice – C’mon, we need a wedding! I know you would love it!

    Bette – Well … Tina does not want to conform to heterosexual practices and I agree. We will have a housewarming party for our friends. That’s all we need!

    Alice – Hmmm … but you would like to marry her, wouldn’t you?

    The brunette looks pensive.

    Bette – One day … when it’s legal … I’ll marry her!

    A month later

    Meg’s kitchen, afternoon: Meg is mixing drinks and Tina is helping her. Bette, Alice, Brad and Mark are talking by the pool. 

    Tina – And we signed the papers yesterday. We now have everything as legal as it can be.

    Meg – Good! When are you packing?

    Tina – Probably next week. I have until the end of the month to give the keys to the apartment.
