Jodi frowned, "I’m giving you a chance to protect her you know. Come with me willingly and I’ll leave her unharmed"

Bette let out a breath of laughter, "And trust you? Thanks but I’ll take my chances. I’ll protect her myself"

"We’ll see about that"

Bette’s eyes narrowed as she watched Jodi. She felt like there was something more to Jodi’s wording but she couldn’t quite place her finger on it.

Jodi broke the silence, "So what’s it gonna be, pet? This is your last chance"

Bette pursed her lips, "My answer is the same as it always has been. I’ll die first"

Jodi smiled, there was faint disappointment in her eyes but it vanished as quick as it came.

"Actually, you won’t"

Bette’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion as she saw Jodi’s eyes glance over her shoulder. Bette quickly turned her head and saw smoke coming from an area just outside the castle. It was the area behind the library to be exact. Bette didn’t need to be told anything else, she already knew. She had been set up.

Without a word, she turned to run toward the castle but her body was frozen in place. Jodi walked up behind her and grabbed a handful of Bette’s hair and pulled on it hard. Bette’s head was jerked backwards but the brunette pressed her lips together to stop any sound from escaping her lips. She would never give Jodi the satisfaction of knowing she had been hurt.

Jodi leaned forward and pressed her lips to Bette’s ear, whispering against the soft flesh.

"You see that? You precious Tina is right there. She’s probably the cause of that smoke, maybe my newest pet burned her body to ashes"

Jodi chuckled as Bette tensed up, she knew the brunette was fighting for control but she was at full strength. There would be no fighting the hold she had on Bette.

"Maybe you should have thought about my offer. Its much too late now"

Bette was helpless to do anything. Her body felt more numb than it did frozen. She didn’t even bother to fight it anymore. Tina was in danger, probably hurt or worse and there was nothing that Bette could do about it. Jodi had her and there was no escaping this time.
