"They helped her, Kit. Tina would still be here if these two wouldn’t have fucking sold us out!"

Bette yelled so loud it made Kit, Nikki and Jenny jump.

Kit took a deep breath and hoped she could calm her sister down. Bette was close to losing it, any wrong move and she would kill Jenny and Nikki.

"Didn’t you hear them? Jodi threatened to kill them. What would you have done if someone would have threatened to kill Tina?"

"I would have killed them"

Kit shook her head, "No. If you were in their position, as helpless as they are then you would have done whatever it took. You would have done the same thing they did the same as anyone else. Now, I don’t like these two anymore than you do but no one deserves to die. Not like this"

Bette clenched her jaw and tore her gaze off Jenny and Nikki, looking to Kit as tears streamed down her face. Kit looked at her with sadness and concern as she gently rubbed Bette’s shoulder.

"Tina wouldn’t have wanted you to kill them"

At hearing that line, Bette let out a breath she didn’t even know she had been holding. She looked to the spear then to the girls and then thought about Tina. Kit was right, Tina was always so forgiving and trusting. She loved everyone and everything, the last thing she would have wanted was for Bette to spill blood at her expense. Bette didn’t want Tina to look into her eyes and see a monster, it would kill Bette if that’s what happened.

She dropped the spear to the floor and Jenny and Nikki cried in relief. Bette began to cry and was instantly pulled into a tight embrace by Kit. Bette hugged her sister back, tears streaming down her face as Kit comforted her. It was quiet for several moments after, everyone too scared of Bette to even breathe.

"I-it was . . Dana"

Bette and Kit broke the hug and turned to look at Shane. Their friend had woken up and was now struggling to sit up, wincing at the pain from such an act. Kit kneeled down beside her and gently placed a hand on Shane’s shoulder in an effort to lay her back down.

"Don’t move yet. Your wounds are closed but your body still needs to heal. It needs rest"

Shane shook her head and began to sit up again, "I c-can’t . . not yet . . Bette has to know"

Bette got down to her own knees and looked at her friend with an unreadable expression. She didn’t know what to think. Did Shane say, Dana?

Kit helped Shane sit up as the brunette took in several breaths, She looked into Bette’s eyes with so much sadness and her friend couldn’t help but ease her suspicions.

"Did you say Dana? As in . . our Dana?"

Shane nodded weakly, "I don’t know how . . but she was here. We fought and . . she’s so much stronger and faster than anyone I’ve ever fought. Anyone human anyway"

Bette’s eyes dropped to the floor as she struggled for breath. Her lover was taken and her best friend was alive. Why did Dana take Tina? Did that mean she was working for Jodi? Bette wanted it to be false she really did but when she looked into Shane’s eyes she knew it wasn’t. Dana was back and she was helping Jodi.

Bette looked up to Kit, "How long until she’s fully healed?"

Kit shook her head, "I don’t know uh . . if I make a stamina potion, it’ll strengthen her body immensely"

Bette nodded, "So . . . ?"

Kit sighed, "Two hours"

Bette gave one single nod, "Good"

Shane looked at Bette, "You have a plan?"

"Half a plan. We’re going to Jodi’s fortress"
