Bette lowered her weapon but didn’t put it away just yet. She trusted Tina but she still wanted to keep her guard up.

"Thank you . . for saving Tina. She means the world to me"

Amy was surprised by Bette’s appreciation but she bowed her head, "I was happy to do it"

Bette nodded before looking back at Tina. She lowered her head and spoke very soft and huskily, "Lets get you out of here. I need to tend to that body of yours"

Tina smiled and nodded, her eyes widening as she remembered something important, "Wait. Jodi . . I have to tell you about Jodi"

Bette’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion just as a familiar voice filled the room, "Now, now Princess. Didn’t you parents tell you how impolite it is to speak of someone when they’re not in the room?"

Bette quickly turned around and came face to face with Jodi. She immediately pulled Tina behind her, careful of her lover’s wounds and shielded her body. Jodi smiled, clearly amused with the situation but when she saw Amy behind them, her smile faded.

"What are you doing here?"

Amy’s heart began to beat rapidly, "I-I . . "

Jodi’s eyes narrowed, "Answer the question, Amy"

Tina glanced behind her and saw the fear in Amy’s eyes. Despite it all however, Amy swallowed and picked up her chin and spoke bravely.

"I helped Tina escape"

Jodi’s eyes widened in surprise, she looked at Amy with disbelief and betrayal, "You better have had a damn good excuse for that"

Amy took deep breaths, this was the hardest thing she ever had to do. She had never really stood up to Jodi before, she loved the Empress so much she just accepted everything Jodi did. Until now at least.

"You kept her locked up like a caged animal. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that, Jodi. You shouldn’t have-"

Amy’s words were suddenly cut short and Tina turned around to see what was going on. Amy was now suspended in the air, her face was turning blue. No doubt Jodi was behind it all.

"How dare you defy me like that?! I’ve given you everything you have ever wanted. What makes you think you have the right to go against my wishes like that?!"

She tossed Amy across the room like a rag doll, not caring to see where the woman landed but Tina did. She watched as Amy hit the ground and rolled until she smacked into a pillar unmoving. Tina instinctively ran over to see if she was alright. Jodi’s eyes locked onto Tina’s retreating back and she took a step to pursue the Princess when Bette stepped towards her, cutting off any further movement.

"Stay away from her" Her tone was so cold it sent chills down Jodi’s spine.

Jodi simply looked at her, hating the fact that Bette could be so protective of Tina yet so dismissive of Jodi herself. What was it about Tina that made Bette so obedient? So loyal and loving?

Bette held up her sword and took a battle stance as Jodi forced a smile.

"Is that how its gonna be?"

Bette pursed her lips, "Whatever made you think otherwise?"

Jodi then realized that she didn’t care about the reasons as to why Bette was so drawn to Tina. It finally sunk in that she would never have Bette the way she truly wanted to. She then decided that if she couldn’t have Bette, then no one would.

Jodi extended her hands as two blue fireballs formed and rested in her palms. Her eyes began to glow a bright blue and her hair became streaked with blue as well. There was no smile to be seen, she simply glared at the woman she had once loved, the one she spent so much time obsessing over.

"Very well then, Bette. Let’s get this over with shall we?"
