All The Fallen ~*~ Chapter 14 ~*~ Reality

Helena let her eyes roam across the dance floor, feeling the music thrumming in her bones, the lights pulsing like something alive, bodies moving in synchronicity.  It was like something organic, liquid solids pressing and moving together.

Her eyes flicked to the DJ in the booth.  Dark hair tumbled to her shoulders beneath a white straw fedora cocked over one eye.  Her hands moved across the board in a blur; her creamy dark skin was slick with sweat.  Periodically, she chewed on her lower lip in concentration.  She was the sexiest woman Helena had seen since she arrived in LA.  Other than Susan, that is.  Of the two, the DJ seemed the far safer pick, but the idea of seducing someone as powerful as Susan was highly tempting.

“Who’s that?” she asked Susan, cocking her head to the left, in motion to DJ.

“Carmen someone-or-other.” Susan quietly observed Helena’s reactions, making notes for some future moment in time.  The Brit was trying hard to ignore the toe of Susan’s boot between her feet.  Susan allowed it, for the time being.  This one might genuinely be capable of challenging her, something she hadn’t encountered in a long time, which meant that seducing her would be a pleasure; prolonging it would make it all the more satisfying.

“Have you heard from Jo?”  Susan said in a silken voice, her eyes penetrating deep into her.

“No,” Helena shook her head, clear blue eyes clouding.  “I suppose it’s too soon, though I’d hoped….”  Her voice trailed off and for some reason, Susan felt for her, the pain, the anguish.

“She’ll find them,” Susan reassured her.  She knew Jo well enough to know, she wasn’t going to stop until she did.

“You seem quite sure of this.”  Helena said, her accent so light and sultry that Susan found herself being carried away with it.

“I am.”  Susan answered, letting the touch of a smile grace her lips.

“Have you known Jo long?” Helena leaned back and finished her glass of wine.  Susan waved to Blu for refills.  She moved to them, smiling because Susan was in full hunting mode.
