    tibette kiss… talk… get surprises…sweet moments shared

    CHAPTER 7

                Bette is taken a back as she feels Tina’s lips press against hers. Her eyes open in shock.  Tina feels Bette tense and instinctively snakes her hand behind Bette’s neck to draw her closer, she parts Bette’s lips with her tongue begging for entrance, which Bette quickly allows.

                “Oh geez… uh… sorry.” Dana manages to stammer out walking into the kitchen. Bette and Tina still in each others arms turn to see Dana, they then turn to look at one another. Tina realizes what has just transpired and at her doing, she pulls away slowly.

                “Bette.”

                “No regrets Tee.”

                Dana walks into the living room with her head down and a smile slowly forming on her face.

                “Guys, I think it’s working.” She says softly.

                “What?” Shane asks unable to hear.

                “I think it’s working. I think they’re going to work.”

                “You discovered that in the kitchen?” Alice muses.

                “They were kissing Al,” The girls begin to laugh. The smiles on their faces widen.

                “Kissing? Like a peck on the cheek kiss or like get down kiss?” Kit inquires.

                “No like K-I-S-S-I-N-G.” Dana repeats slowly.

                “Oh my God.” Alice nearly yells. The women sit staring at eachother in shock they had wanted this reunion almost as much as the two women specifically involved.

                Tina leans against the counter looking at Bette. The silence between them feels comfortable a first in a long while.

                “We need to talk.”

                “Now?” Bette asks.

                “Yes, let’s go outside.”

                “Wait before we do that I need to give you this.” She hands the box to Tina. Tina receives it with a smile.

                “Shall I open it now?”

                “Ummm I guess you can wait. Unless you can’t.” Bette’s features soften at the gift awaiting Tina.

                “Let’s talk first.” She says not really ready for what is in the box. Bette nods her head in defeat and leads them out of the house. They sit on a pool lounge Tina leans her back against the seat while Bette sits at the end of the lounge cross legged taking in Tina’s beautiful glow.

    4. Hey denEmat, I’m really enjoying your tale. Delayed honesty is soooo much harder than telling the truth in the moment….the delay gives us too much time to speculate and imagine all kinds of responses, outcomes and it even alters reality somewhat. And the results are often as immediately painfully as ultimately rewarding. Its good that our girls are getting honest with each other. Thanks for writing. PPS.

    7. What a way to end a beautiful party with friends and family. Poor Bette, falling asleep when all she wants to do is spend time with Tina. Maybe they should not stay in the same bed but darn it, I think that it is a great idea.
