Was it all an illusion? Bette questioned herself and looks around the room trying to make sense of what was happening. The office look just as it always been; the conference table and all its chairs are in undisturbed position. The staleness of the air indicated the absent of any recent visitors. The anomaly was all in her head. Bette’s mind slowly catches on to her surrounding. Disappointment and anger flare in her eyes.
“Damn it” Bette pulls the bathroom door shut and left and indent of her frustration on the innocent trashcan nearby.
“Bette, calm down…you’re scaring me…who’s Tina?” Alice keeps a safe distance while voicing her concern. A light goes off in her head, catching on to the rambling of a Tina, Alice brace herself to ask.
“Are you looking for Ms. Campbell of the CAC?” Bette’s eyes immediately focus in on Alice. Bingo, Alice noted.
“What do you know ….was she here?” Alice quickly shook her head and answered Bette’s inquisition.
“Uh….I don’t know anything Bette…I was just guessing, didn’t you check your message for the VM she left you?”
“She called?” Bette asked, surprised by the news.
“Yeah…when you were in Chicago… wait …I thought you checked it” Alice stated in confusion.
“There was none from her” Bette said, equally baffled.
“Oh…maybe she changed her mind” Alice’s statement stab at Bette’s heart. Yeah, I’m not that important. A fake smile appeared on her face for Alice’s sake. Bette turned around and head for her office, considering that the end of their conversation but a thought weighed heavily on her mind that made her wonder.
“Why did she call Al?” Unsurely, Bette asked.
“Something about wanting to thank you personally for the job well done…I offered to take the message but she opted for your VM.”
“Okay, thanks for the info. You can get back to work now. I’ll be in my office and take a message if anyone calls for me.” Bette sound disappointed. Her bowed head and defeated form give credence to the speculation that runs wild in Alice’s head.
What the heck was that? Alice wondered watching Bette walked away. Something is definitely going on between Bette and Ms. Campbell. The girls are going to freak when they find out. Shit! Alice muttered, realizing the potential pitfall of keeping this piece of juicy information to her self. It would just be a matter of time before she spills the bean to either Shane or Candace. She has enough common sense to avoid the later and a pre-emptive move is what she need.

I just caught up with the whole story.. and this is what I get? Don’t leave us hanging too long. Now that most things are out in the open I’d hope they can finally talk to each other.
Please do not leave us waiting for to long. Tina needs to run up to Bette room and tell her she still loves her. Let’s just hope it will be in time to save Bette’s life. Thanks
Glad you’re back, but how can you be thinking of ending this so soon. Seems like a lot of missing info. to only have one post left. Either way, this has been a great story.

Finally when Tina finds out that Bette had no choice in the matter of leaving her all those years earlier, Bette is very ill herself and may not make it. So much love and hurt and two wasted lives you wonder why even live in the first place.
I love your story! Especially this chappy…rollercoaster. It is “beautifully sad”… I know it sounds lame, but it is what I feel after reading it. PPS, don’t make us wait too long!
