    Finishing off their night at The Planet

    "Wha . . what are you doing here?" Tina quickly ended the kiss and tossed a quick but worried glance at Bette before focusing back on Sam.

    "I felt really bad about arguing on the phone with you so I ended rehearsal and came over here as soon as I could" Sam smiled as she traced a finger along Tina’s jawbone.

    "You didn’t have to do that" Tina said softly, suddenly feeling guilty and conflicted about the entire situation, "Bette was going to drop me off"

    "Bette?"

    "Yeah" Tina nodded and made her way around Sam to gesture to the brunette standing behind them, "This is Bette, Ava’s girlfriend. Bette this is Sam . . my girlfriend"

    Sam smiled and extended her hand towards Bette whom shook it firmly, "Nice to meet you, Bette"

    "Likewise, I’ve heard a lot about you" Bette smiled though it never reached her eyes, something only Tina noticed.

    "All good things I hope" Sam chuckled and slipped an arm around an uncomfortable Tina’s waist.

    Bette smiled but said nothing as she tried to overcome the sadness and jealousy surging through her. Now she knew what Tina must have felt earlier, if she even cared for Bette in that way that is.

    "Well, we should be going if we want to avoid traffic" Sam smiled after a silence had set in. She looked to Tina for approval, earning a small nod from the blonde before looking back at Bette and holding out her hand again, "It was good to meet you. Thank you for being kind enough to offer my girl a ride home"

    "It was good to meet you too and don’t worry about it. Drive safely" Bette shook Sam’s hand with a forced smile.

    Sam added pressure to Tina’s waist to steer the reluctant blonde towards their car.

    "Bye Tina" Bette said softly, the sadness clear in her tone.

    Tina smiled just as soft and just as sad as she followed Sam to the car.

    After an hour or so of intense arguing with Ava, Bette finally had some peace as she laid herself on the couch. It was a fairly new and comfortable couch so she wasn’t too upset about having to sleep on it. She had gotten used to it anyways. After moving around to get into a comfortable position, Bette let out a deep sigh and closed her eyes to sleep when she felt a soft buzzing on her toes. She opened her eyes and groaned as she sat up, moving around the comforter to look for her phone.

    She pressed the unlock button and immediately squinted at the bright light her phone produced. Noticing she had a text message, Bette opened the application and felt her heart begin to race when she saw who it was from.

    I don’t think you’re the only one in trouble

    Bette’s shaky fingers worked the small buttons on her blackberry and typed a response.

    Why not?

    Bette’s nerves were on edge as she waited for what seemed like a lifetime for a reply to her text. Finally, her phone buzzed and Bette’s heart nearly stopped when she read the response.

    Because I’m incredibly attracted to you too . .

    6. thank goodness neither are married. yay. so let’s get the story moving a bit more. nudge nudge. I am so glad bette found some guts to acknowledge her feelings and to confess so early. i just hope they do it the right way. can’t stand ava, i hope she learns that she has been taking bette for granted. at least sam seems decent enough towards tina.

    7. btw, i like that helena is included in the mix. it makes it more interesting and helps that there is jealousy in the picture cos it is the first clear sign of how serious their relationship is going to be. like it!!

    10. I’m really enjoying this story. I hope Bette dumps Ava very soon. And I hope Tina finds out what Sam is really like and dumps her too. Even if Bette and Tina don’t get together they need to get away from people who don’t really love them.

    15. One day, Ava will meet the right person. Clearly, Bette is not that person. Bette, however, has met the right person. She just isn’t free to explore anything with her. At least she’s coming more and more to understand what she doesn’t want and the glaringly obvious mismatch of her pairing with Ava. Hopefully, Bette just goes about everything in the right way. Tina, too. Thank you for the post, Liah! :)

    16. Woohoo!! An update from Liah!! :-D sooooo… happy!! Thanks for your generosity posting update Liah!! :-) the uncertainty and tension and chemistry is so palpable!! Good writing Liah! Well done! 😁👍You do put all the perfect words for the story and I can simply picture the situation as if watching the movie! The connection between Tina and Bette is bitter sweet. It’s so hard to follow your heart when all the norms and logic contradict it! I hope the bitter part would be gone soon and let them appreciate the sweetness in time to come ;-) … If there’s an award for creating antagonist character, I would give one for your Ava! :-) PPVS as I am pining for reading more! Especially after you end the chapter that way! ;-) LOL
