Bette and Dana’s baby talk
Of course Angie wanted to stay home to decorate the tree that night, but they convinced her to wait a day so they would have time to pull all the Christmas decorations from storage. The Kennard-Porters would be checking out of the hotel on Saturday morning and had plans to spend the weekend at home decorating and preparing their home for the festive holiday.
Once they got back to the hotel Shane, Molly, Tasha and Alice made plans to check out a local lesbian dance club. Kit and Angus met up with some musician friends at an uptown bar that had live music on Friday nights. Peter was exhausted from the day’s excursion and decided to make it an early night. Maxine and Angie wanted to watch a holiday movie so it was agreed that Angie would spend the night with her grandmother in Maxine’s room.
That left Bette, Tina, Lara and Dana who decided to stay in for the night. They were hanging out in the penthouse suite enjoying the luxury accommodations for the last night of their stay. Lara and Tina sat at the dining room table browsing the internet in search of the perfect romantic date for Bette’s 40th birthday. Bette didn’t want to make a fuss but this was a milestone birthday and Tina wanted it to be special. Since food was her specialty Lara suggested that they look for a unique culinary experience.
“What do you think about this?” Lara asked pulling up a website to show Tina. “Dana and I tried it in San Francisco. It was amazingly romantic and sensual.”
“Dining in the Dark?” Tina read on the home page.
“Yeah, it’s popular in Europe but it’s really taken off in the United States as well. Listen to this. ‘Dining in the Dark is an opportunity to encounter the other senses (touch, taste, smell, and hearing) on a level rarely experienced by the sighted. Diners are guided through a five-course dinner, immersed in total darkness by a server who is blind or visually impaired.’”
“Um … that does sound amazing and very different. I think I’ll make a reservation now. Being it’s so close to Christmas I’m sure they will be very busy.”
Tina turned the laptop towards her to make the dinner reservation and noticed that the restaurant was located in a boutique hotel in lower Manhattan. That gave her another idea of how to make the entire day special for Bette. She smiled mischievously as she finished the reservations and logged off the site.

Great update. I like you introducing new dimensions into this story w/Dana. You have the ability to express the natural fears that people have in their everyday lives in an interesting and compelling manner.

Harrison, never thought about him to be a donor, but he could be a good choise. They shouldn’t wait to long, Bette isn’t that young anymore.
Smart move of Dana and asking Lara to marry her, looking forward to it. Love the special bond between Bette and Dana.
Thanks for the update!
