    Meet the parents.

    *Tina*

    Everyone left and I am just cleaning up the house a little bit. Were really going to have to hire someone to help us. This is a lot of house. I had to pull Bette out of the nursery earlier and she is currently sleeping on the couch. Today really wore her out. I hear a ringing of a cell phone. Going closer to Bette I see that its the phone she has clutched in her hand.

    She has been guarding that thing with her life.

    “Hello,” Bette says groggily at waking up

    I watch as she listens to whoever is on the other line. She turns to see me staring at her and she smiles at me. Shaking my head I smile back and go back into the kitchen. I can hear her talking over the water as I continue to wash dishes but cant tell what shes saying. After a few minutes I hear her come into the kitchen and pull a chair out from the table sitting down warily.

    “Babe you need to be resting,” I say wiping my hands on a dish towel as I turn to her

    She just smiles up at me, “I wanted to be with you,” she shrugs, “You are in here so thats where Im going to be.”

    That is such an incredibly sweet thing to say it makes me smile brightly, “Well Im actually just finishing. How about we go check on the twins and then go and nap?”

    A look passes over her face that I cant quite describe but she smiles.

    “That sounds wonderful T.”

    I go over to the table and get her up. Together we walk into the nursery and check on our little angels. Throughout the day when I saw Bette watching our sons she would get a strange look across her face. I never knew what the look meant. I had my ideas but I hadnt found the courage to ask her about it.

    “They look like him,” she said startling me out of my thoughts

    “What,” I ask looking up at her

    Bette is staring at me with a raised eyebrow. Her eyes are so clear right now that they almost draw you in. I shake my head.
