I shut my eyes and tears running down my cheeks.

“Hey ma…” My mom greets me in a bear huge and squeezes me so tight.

“Christina… what a surprise and I’m soooo glad to see you.”

I’m so happy to see my mom and my childhood home… but still in the corner of my heart… it is still twitching in pain… Bette…

“Dad…” my dad turned the corner and hug me as well… they’re so glad to see me… I guessed I’ve really been missing quite a while and they’re just glad and finally able to let out a breath seeing me back in one piece…

They escort me to the kitchen and my mom starting to prepare foods… “So how’s everything?” asked my mom while preparing food.

“Work is fine and I’m fine.” I tried to muster up a smile. My dad look at me and looks like studying me. When he sees me looking at him looking at me, he picks up the newspaper and pretending to be starting to read it.

“How’s Eric?” ouch… I should have knew this one will come.

    “He’s fine… well… erm… I…”

My dad put down his newspaper and my mom stop what she is doing and both looking at me expectantly.

I dropped my head and looked down in embarrassment. “I… err… broke up with him.”

The room fell into a scary silence. Then my dad lean across the table and take hold of my hand, he squeezes it and I look up into his warm eyes, “I’m sorry to hear that.”

My mom finally came out of her trance… “What happened?”

    “It didn’t work out mom.”

“Why? Eric is a great guy.” My mom wants to start a debate or brain wash. I’m just so tired and don’t feel like giving any explanation.

“Martha, this is between the two of them… and Tina is the one who has the say that Eric is a great guy or not.” My dad states and raises an eyebrow on my mom. My mom purses her lips and continues to prepare food. “Sweetie, go get settled and rest for a while before lunch.”

    3. Wow… Wow… Tina came all the way back? *sigh* Oh my god that first look… The eyes truly are the windows of the soul and Bette just offered her soul to Tina… When will there be a sealing kiss? *lol* I can”t stop loving this story! It truly is one of my favourites! good luck vith your busy day tomorrow! Hope you’ll be able to post soon! HUG

    4. No more Eric…or is there? Tina is raking up the frequent flyer miles huh? That was a quick trip. I am glad Bette can see….yeah! I hope they can explore their feelings. Sometimes when I stay up that late and have to be to work early I just suck it like a champ up and stay up…you know do a marathon day. Good luck with that.

    5. Now, how generous of you offering us two new chapters ! I was so delighted discovering your name on the list tonight because, yes, I missed this story so much. And since I didn’t have the opportunity to do it before, let me just say few words about the last chapter before this current one : “Friends… ah, that’s what people do… giving themselves excuses of becoming friends when actually they like the other person… to give themselves excuses of protecting themselves from heart breaking… (…) Protecting their heart themselves = set in a cage to prevail it from any harm… no freedom… they’re hurting themselves even more… suffocating themselves… causing regret… left only ‘friends’ memories… dreams that could never come true…” I so know what you mean here. But anyway, even when friendship can be the only way to openly express true feelings, even if it can be an euphemistic name for love – and the ultimate protection against a one-way love – , that’s a miracle and a lifetime gift. — > I love the way you depict how blindness can also be a figurative one – and so finds a deeply symbolic representation in Bette’s momentary infirmity. Now, since she endly recovered, will she really ‘see’ things correctly, without the ‘blur’ of those fears and misunderstanding – or will this new kind of blindness be, on a particular level, worse than the other one ? God, feelings and insecurities can complicate life so much… — But for now, I’m enjoying so much this very beautiful and touching moment when Bette discovers Tina’s face and how they both let themselves endly see each other’s eyes – and soul. You made a truly wonderful work here, totally melting my heart : thank you so much for that feeling ! I really, really love this deeply endearing story of yours, it’s a jewel.

    6. Say after me Bette,”I LOVE YOU T” see how easy that was. thanks for this Post and the late night for you, everyone needs some beauty sleep thanks

    7. Oh, thank god she can see! I can’t imagine her doing something not art related. I’m also thrilled that Tina had the good sense to come home. Running away never solves a problem. Thanks for the chapter…looking forward to your next post.

    8. Wow, they fall in love without really seeing each others eyes. The eyes are the window to their souls and neither one were able to see that soul until that moment when T comes to Bette. Great chapter and I can’t wait for the next one.

    9. so sweet! Tina came back just one day from her departure! they are so in love, now is time to show to each other and to Tina to understand her feelings! well done girl! i like it so much

    10. Is good that eric out of the picture. So glad Bette can see it agand and Tina came back to see Bette, this is beautiful and happy for them. Ok let see what’s next, thanks!

    11. I’m enjoying this story so much. Thank you for bringing them together. I’m curious about where you’re taking them and look forward to the next chapter.

    12. Woooowwwww!!!! Thanks Zabo for this fabulous job! I was expecting a lot from the first time Bette saw Tina and you surely didn’t disappoint! Just brillant!!! Of course Tina came back! How couldn’t she? “I was blind but now I can see!” … both of them! That was a beautiful scene, and I thank you for this fabulous moment. Wherever you take us next, I totally trust and follow you! Isn’t it funny that however much you try to hide your feelings, your eyes will never lie…?
