    “Well whatever the reason I am proud of you Helena” Peggy said sincerely as she laid her head back against the seat

    Helena smiled appreciatively squeezing Peggy’s shoulder gently.  Tina smiled warmly at the two

    “Peggy it looks like you have about an hour left”  Tina announces looking at the contents in the IV bag

    “Is that all?..The time is just flying by with this wonderful company”

    Tina smiles “I’m sure you aren’t talking about me.  The one who is putting you through this”

    “Nonsense Dr Kennard…You are the very reason I can even smile.  Thanksgiving is next week and I’m thankful for you giving me a fighting a chance when I was told there was none” Peggy says looking at Tina admiringly

    “I second that.  I’m thankful you have given us hope that Mummy can beat this” Helena adds as Tina nods her head

    “I have made it my life’s work to cure cancer..and Peggy you have truly been a miracle so far.  I have scheduled another PET in 4 weeks to see where we are. And after this round of chemo you will be scheduled for 6 more..One every two weeks now instead of weekly”

    Peggy nodded “I’m at your command dear”

    “Good.  Well I better get started on my rounds.  I had to come see how you were doing first” Tina says patting Peggy gently on her shoulder

    “Appreciate all you have done Dr. Kennard” Helena says as they watch Tina nod and walk away.  Peggy turns to Helena

    “Helena?…Don’t forget to make the donation to her foundation from our corporate account”

    Helena nods “Thats being handled as we speak” she says assuringly

    Peggy sighs “Good…One less thing for me to worry about then” she says laying her head back against the headrest and closing her eyes

    Tina was anxious but waited patiently for Bette to meet her by her car to begin their day she had planned.  Because she had to work unexpectedly in the ER,  her whole day she had planned was cut short since it was now three in the afternoon.  Of course Bette was as understanding as ever but Tina still felt terrible having to change her plans. And this was new territory for her for what she was about to do but she wanted to show Bette that she was committed to this relationship and putting her trust in her which for Tina was a very hard thing.  Today was all about showing Bette her passions.

    1. Well, I must say that saying goodbye to Myrtle was a wonderful lift to my sprits. That gave me a real belly laugh. I actually felt Bette trying to be Alice’s friend in this process but thanking her lucky stars that this would be a once in a life time experience for her. And the reassurance to Alice that Myrtle had gone to a better life in the recycle world was absolutely genius. Humor is sometimes the most difficult to write….but you pulled it off brilliantly…. Thank you for this….

      Bette and Tina are finally having their romantic evening together. Very nice .. I look forward to seeing them becoming a more of a couple by sharing even more of who they are and what they want from life. The upcoming trip to North Carolina should be interesting. Glad to see Tina has made some decisions about her career. Let’s see if she can make them happen.

      • Agree with your comment 100%, The part with Myrtle was hilarious…. when Bette said Alice was “crushed” as the car was demolished into a pancake was really good!

        I had to give Myrtle the proper send off to the great beyond!

        And the next chapter is all about their trip to NC and Tina dealing with closure.

    2. Excellent chapter. I love this story. The whole Myrtle story is hysterical and heartwarming. We should all have a buddy like Bette. She’s there for Alice just because. And Tina and Bette finally got their romantic moment and their intimacy is off the charts. I hope Peggy is going to hang in there. I worry about her. And I’m glad Tina figured out it was Bette who made the donation. So so good.

      Appreciating more & more your Bette who is becoming more playful with each chapter. Especially with her gurl Alice!! Saving Alice’s lucky dice and joining Al in louder & louder shout outs of “Banzai Myrtle-san”!!!

      Tina taking Bette to the office where she receives donations for the cancer research foundation and very carefully proportions those monies was sweet. “Do you know why I showed you all of this?”….”That is part of it yes but….”. …”I wanted to show you where your money is going”.

      Tina knew that given Bette’s propensity toward very specific and complete attention to “details” as a world-class architect, Bette would fully appreciate knowing how it was also in Tina’s nature to handle money in the same way she carefully attended to each patient under her care. Energy nor finances would be wasted.

      What’s more, Tina stating from the jump that she was actively seeking the right person to run the Foundation so that as much of her time would be available for she & Bette to grow.

      “You are so selfless and giving. I’m so grateful to have you in my life . . . But because I SEE YOU AS MY ONCE IN A
      LIFETIME.

      So looking forward to their trip to NC . . . To lay to rest the heartbreak of loosing Jacob.

        Bette is letting loose a little bit because things are falling into place for her and as for Tina she is seeing that there is more to life than her career and Bette is the reason for that!

        NC should be a bittersweet experience for the both of them next chapter

          Definately looking 4ward to the escapades of this couple ad even “Danish”!! HeHeHe!!! This is the one story where Im tickled to see Alice & Dana as a romantic duo

    6. Hey jlr921, I just finished reading this whole fic again and I still love it. It has been a few months since we have heard from you and I for one would love to read a new chapter. I would like to see how B&T get through the NC trip and beyond. I would also like to know how Alice and Dana progress with their relationship. Please post soon.
