    Bette took a look around. Her first instinct would to be to inspect the foundation and structure components of the home but instead she found herself just taking in the fact that this was Tina’s.     Bette took a look around. Her first instinct would to be to inspect the foundation and structure components of the home but instead she found herself just taking in the fact that this was Tina’s. Her Tina..She turned around and smiled as Tina gestured around the lobby full of cancer research posters and over to the back wall where a stand sat filled with flyers and brochures of the JK Cancer Research Foundation

    “This is my baby Bette..But of course you know that.  It was important for me to show you. I have never brought anyone here before.  The only one that even comes here besides me is Misty. She runs everything for me” Tina says walking over to Bette and taking her hand in hers “I wanted to share this with you”

    Bette looked at Tina and cupped her cheek with her free hand “It means so much that you did” she says giving Tina a lingering kiss before pulling away

    Tina smiles as she pulls Bette gently by the hand and taking her over to a computer where they both pull up chairs and sit down.  Tina immediately started typing on the keyboard pulling up a program listing current allocations of where the donations are distributed “Now I want to show you what happens when we get a donation” she talks as she scrolls through “You can see exactly where the money goes..cancer prevention studies..psychological and behavioral and lifestyle factors related to cancer survivorship and survival to name a couple but the majority of the donations go into my clinical cocktail therapy trials since I can not secure enough grants for that at the moment.  I’m hoping that changes once the new cancer research facility is built then I can revert those funds there.  All non profit of course”

    Bette watches as Tina clicks through a very detailed list of appropriations taking her time explaining every aspect of what her foundation does.  She finally stops and turns to Bette

    “Do you know why I showed you all of this?”

    “I can assume it’s because since you thought enough to bring me here you wanted to explain what your foundation truly works to achieve” Bette replied

    Tina nods and smiles “That is part of it yes but..”. She pauses to give a couple of clicks of her mouse as she brings up a list of recent donations and highlights the $5,000,000 donation with her cursor. “…I wanted to show you where your money is going”

    1. Well, I must say that saying goodbye to Myrtle was a wonderful lift to my sprits. That gave me a real belly laugh. I actually felt Bette trying to be Alice’s friend in this process but thanking her lucky stars that this would be a once in a life time experience for her. And the reassurance to Alice that Myrtle had gone to a better life in the recycle world was absolutely genius. Humor is sometimes the most difficult to write….but you pulled it off brilliantly…. Thank you for this….

      Bette and Tina are finally having their romantic evening together. Very nice .. I look forward to seeing them becoming a more of a couple by sharing even more of who they are and what they want from life. The upcoming trip to North Carolina should be interesting. Glad to see Tina has made some decisions about her career. Let’s see if she can make them happen.

        And the next chapter is all about their trip to NC and Tina dealing with closure.

    2. Excellent chapter. I love this story. The whole Myrtle story is hysterical and heartwarming. We should all have a buddy like Bette. She’s there for Alice just because. And Tina and Bette finally got their romantic moment and their intimacy is off the charts. I hope Peggy is going to hang in there. I worry about her. And I’m glad Tina figured out it was Bette who made the donation. So so good.

      Appreciating more & more your Bette who is becoming more playful with each chapter. Especially with her gurl Alice!! Saving Alice’s lucky dice and joining Al in louder & louder shout outs of “Banzai Myrtle-san”!!!

      Tina taking Bette to the office where she receives donations for the cancer research foundation and very carefully proportions those monies was sweet. “Do you know why I showed you all of this?”….”That is part of it yes but….”. …”I wanted to show you where your money is going”.

      Tina knew that given Bette’s propensity toward very specific and complete attention to “details” as a world-class architect, Bette would fully appreciate knowing how it was also in Tina’s nature to handle money in the same way she carefully attended to each patient under her care. Energy nor finances would be wasted.

      What’s more, Tina stating from the jump that she was actively seeking the right person to run the Foundation so that as much of her time would be available for she & Bette to grow.

      “You are so selfless and giving. I’m so grateful to have you in my life . . . But because I SEE YOU AS MY ONCE IN A
      LIFETIME.

      So looking forward to their trip to NC . . . To lay to rest the heartbreak of loosing Jacob.

        Bette is letting loose a little bit because things are falling into place for her and as for Tina she is seeing that there is more to life than her career and Bette is the reason for that!

        NC should be a bittersweet experience for the both of them next chapter

          Definately looking 4ward to the escapades of this couple ad even “Danish”!! HeHeHe!!! This is the one story where Im tickled to see Alice & Dana as a romantic duo

    6. Hey jlr921, I just finished reading this whole fic again and I still love it. It has been a few months since we have heard from you and I for one would love to read a new chapter. I would like to see how B&T get through the NC trip and beyond. I would also like to know how Alice and Dana progress with their relationship. Please post soon.
