Broken Voyagers
It was a tiger shark.
A huge tiger shark.
The dark vertical stripes which gave the fish its name had all nearly faded which told Bette, that the beast was not a juvenile but a fully grown adult and more than likely a seasoned hunter as well.
Bette slowed her breathing, trying to regulate her heart beat. Sharks were sensitive to the most minute signs of distress and a hammering beat and elevated breathing were quite simply satisfying to their senses.
The brunette tried as best she could to follow the movements of the now circling fish, but her efforts were impaired by the cumbersome weight that her diving companion had become. Kelly was hell bent on keeping Bette between her and the shark and clung forcefully to Bette’s pack, seeming to manoeuvre the brunette like a weightless shield.
Bette’s mind was racing, thinking of ways to move away from the situation without peril befalling to either human or beast. It was, however, a tough choice to make considering the thoughts which literally swam around her head.
These large, blunt-nosed predators had a duly earned reputation as man-eaters. They were second only to great whites in attacking people. But because they had a near completely undiscerning palate, they were not likely to swim away after biting a human, as great whites frequently did.
Bette surveyed the sharp, highly serrated teeth and powerful jaws that she knew capable of cracking the shells of sea turtles and clams. The shark was about 20 to 25 feet in length, sleek and so effortless underwater; languid sweeps of its tail enough to keep it cruising along. He showed no inclination of attack as yet but the circles the fish was drawing around them were most certainly decreasing, bringing with each closer approach that unmistakable stare, no other animal on land possessed; there was no light in it.
Behind her, Kelly was getting more and more agitated, arms and legs thrashing and attracting the shark’s interest even more. It twitched slightly to the side and made as if to swim away. Bette took the opportunity to turn around to try and calm Kelly down and stop her continuous flailing.
She didn’t notice however that at the same moment, the shark thought better than to swim away and instead turned back on itself. With a powerful swipe of its tail, it swam straight at the two women. The shark gaped its fearsome mouth, showing off its vicious-looking teeth before making contact with Bette.

Hi, welcom back, Kins!
Thank you for finished this story! Ok, now i’m going to read it.
Hi, Kins
Oh my God, Kins, welcome back, after almost 2 years, it’s been a long time, but reading the whole story now I feel, the wait was worth.
You have given us a quite wonderful and interesting story full of adventures and riddles and full of love of my favorite couple Bette and Tina.
You ended the story in a very good way, but I feel as if I want to know more about them, if Bette gets the funding for her project in Mexico, the wedding, their partnership, what Tina does for a job… and many more things.
I hope we could read more new beautiful stories from you; I like very much your style.
Thank you very much and please, post other TIBETTE stories

Ok, i read again this story, this time the whole and i’m ready to leave another comment.
First – thank you again for finish the story.
Second – happy to see happy final -treasure was found, bitch Kelly got lost. And i must say i like how you got rid from her – like in life we can say with 100% probability what happened – or she sank or she was killed by shark.
Third – i like how you described Bette and Tina and love between them. I like it in all your stories (maybe with one exception – in Frozen beginnings i don’t like your Bette during the story, but in final she corrected :) )
So, welcome back and maybe in the future we can see another great story from you? I really hope so.
Hi Kins,
Really enjoyed the read, thank you so much.
A great Story and I loved reading it in one post. As an English Lady I really enjoyed your explanation of Cricket!
I would love it if you would now consider a Sequel with these two characters.
Thanks again for posting.

Hi Kins,
You took us trough a incredible journey! Full of adventures, little clues i tried to catch to find the treasure, the background on the history of those ships and of course the love between Bette & Tina.
I really hope you will continu with a sequel or a new story.
Thank you so much for posting the whole story after two long years!
In-cre-di-ble! Kins, thank you so much for returning to this story and for giving us such a glorious and sweet ending. You’re such a talented writer. What a wonderful plot with astonishing details to the treasure hunt.
I second the previous comments and hope you’ll find the inspiration (and time) to work on a sequel. Maybe Bette’s project in Mexico with a twist with some unexpected traces of a legendary Aztec treasure ;)

Wow!!!! Such rich detail that it feels so true ,.. as if you have near lived these experiences ur self. And along w the romance of it, I learned so much about ship wrecks and diving. Do post it on AO3 as well to get a broader audience… it belongs to stories worth sharing :)
