Tina shot Helena a look. "Don’t look at me."
"So how was the dinner thingy you had, anyway?" Alice asked Helena. "And why wasn’t I invited?"
Helena looked at her, as if she were loathe to discuss this again. "You know why."
"No, I don’t," Alice pressed, grinning at Tina, who looked intrigued.
"Alice," Helena said warily.
"Helena," Alice returned. "Why. Wasn’t. I. Invited?"
"Because the last time you and my mother were in the same room I had visualizations and images that continue to give me nightmares." Helena exclaimed. She turned to Tina for sympathy. "Alice, in front of my mother, asked me what my favorite sexual position was. She was on that drug that gave her Tourette’s, and my mother, enjoying Alice’s candor, piped in her own list."
"Oh my." Tina said, but couldn’t help her smile of amusement.
"And they start discussing the different ways they like to get their… well, cover your daughter’s ears — orgasms, at which point my therapist just booked me for another year," Helena frowned disapprovingly at Alice. "I loathe you."
"You have a cool mom, I can’t help it." Alice shrugged.
"Mama," Angelica piped in, holding out a spoonful of her mango sorbet to Tina, who obliged the offered dessert.
Alice watched the two. "You two are adorable, you know that?"
Tina exchanged smiles with Angelica before turning to Alice. "Thank you."
"Yeah, all we need now is Porter to really finish out the family portrait," Alice said.
Tina shot Helena a glance, but the Brit only shrugged.
Alice leaned closer to Tina. "Okay, I know I haven’t been very cheerleader-esque about you and Porter lately, but you know that’s just me protecting her, right?"
"Okay–"
"Anyway Porter hasn’t really been herself lately. I mean, she’s hardly around, she doesn’t really spend time with us as much as she used to. I think it has something to do with my somewhat disapproving vibe about the two of you, but you’ve made milestones, TK, and I think I can trust you to reel Bette back in."
Tina frowned. "I don’t follow."
"Can you, I don’t know, engage her, or something?" Alice asked. "I don’t like this Hundred Years of Solitude Porter’s been doing."

Lara grabbed the muffin from Alice’s hands. “No muffin for you.” Oh no Lara is the MUFFIN NAZI! =O Angelica is so cute. I’m surprised she didn’t try to hide from Alice.
For me the whole scene brightens when Bette arrives. The way you write her character…she is just luminous.TD…you write dialogue like no ther. The banter among the friends is delightful. How much money (U.S.) does Beckham make per year?
Tiff, dunno how u do it, but each chapter manages to make me forget all the work that i have to do.. and i find myself grinning like an idiot at the comp screen :)
I hope that Bette tells Alice soon, although I have a sneaking suspicion that Angelica is going to somehow be involved…

I love it!!They are getting along and being in love again. Lovely. I really wish Tina would just shag Bette as she walks to the table and knock her socks off with a deep passionate kiss. That would surprise everyone at the table except Helena and then they would not have to pretend to their family. Great chapter and Alice, aww Alice will be Alice. The nosey little devil has not figured out that T & B are seeing each other again. Great.
Maybe telling Alice and even Kit will not be as bad as Bette and Tina feared. Good thing Angelica is so cute and young because she could really reveal all of Bette’s and Tina’s secret affair of the heart. Alice is a total hoot. I wonder how Helena is holding it in about the very puplic display that was given to her the night before. I can not wait to see how Kit and Alice are going respond to B&T hooking up again.
I hope Alice would show a little more discretion should she ever speak to my mother. Peggy Peabody, she ain’t.

Thanks Tiff. azmama to answer your question re Beckhams earnings, he earns roughly about 16 million GBP a year give or take a million, this I think is his football salary and image rights with Real Madrid, not sure if this is his combined earnings with the other endorsements he has so this takes it to about 28/29 million US$ a year.
