‘I do love, Alice.’ Bette said with an irritated tone, also looking at her friends to back her up. But all their friends remained silent, trying to look at anything else but Bette and Alice. 

Just then Tina and Henry walked, Tina smiling while Henry was kissing her neck. 

‘God, do they just fight so they can fuck and make up.’ 

Bette wanted to hit Alice, multiple times. The last thing she wanted was to have a visual of Tina having sex with stupid Henry. 

‘What’s up dykes’ Henry said, winking at Tim. 

Tina gave him a little push ‘Babe, don’t say that’ 

‘O come on now honey, they know I say it with love.’ he said. 

The group didn’t like the way Henry greeted them, but apart from saying hello, he could be good company. 

Tina took a chair from a table next to the table the group was sitting at and asked Helena to shuffle a bit so she could sit next to Bette. 

‘Hey, what are you doing sexy?’ Henry asked. 

‘You’re just going to sit down and not give me some sugar before I leave?’ He walked towards his girlfriend and kissed her hungrily. Bette wanted to vomit. 

‘Don’t try anything Porter when I’m out’ he said laughingly and pushed Bette shoulder way harder than needed to. Bette pressed her lips together trying to smile, raising her eyebrows. 

‘Where is he going’ Tim asked Tina

‘Meeting some college friends’

‘You’re not going with Dana asked?’ 

Tina just shook her head.

When Henry left Jenny started talking about how Tim and her are planning to leave for a couple of weeks, because they had recently bought a small cabin and wanted to work on it now that both of them had some time off. It was summer and Tim could stop coaching, because his colleague Andrew could take care of the girls that needed practice over the summer, and Jenny had just finished her new book, and had to wait for feedback from her publicist. 

‘Hey’ Tina whispers to Bette, still looking in front of her, not trying to get attention from anyone else at their table. 

‘Yeah?’ Bette whispered back. 

‘You free tomorrow?’ 

‘Yeah, I guess so, I was going to a new gallery tho.’
