Chapter 11 – The meeting of two souls

Bette bowed jokingly still laughing
”Oh, thank you very much!”
”You’re welcome”
They finished their Breakfast, and Bette checked the messages on her phone and saw a reminder of today’s lunch.
”Damn”
”Any problems?”
”I forgot that I made an appointment with Alice, Shane, and Helena for lunch. Dana and her son arrived last night…”
”Wow. I haven’t seen Dana in about… 5 years? Something like that”
”Yes, but Shane saw her in Lisbon last summer. I haven’t seen her in a while, either. Do you want to join us? I didn’t tell them you’d be in town, but everyone will be happy to see you”
”Sure. I’d love to join you, but… will we go together or…?”
”I’d really like to shower and change, so I’ll drive home and we can meet there”
Bette looked more serious and patted Tina’s hand.
”Yes, it will be good for us”
”Tee, I don’t think we should tell them about us or show them anything… don’t think anything bad, I’m happy to be here with you, but it’s still…”
Tina took Bette’s hand and kissed the back of it.
”Honey, I’m absolutely of the same opinion. Let’s figure this out ourselves first, and then we’ll get someone else involved, okay?”
Bette visibly relaxed, realizing that she and Tina were talking about the same thing and their thoughts on it were the same. She gave Tina a quick kiss on the lips, thanked her for Breakfast, and started to get ready to go home.
”God Bette, don’t you want to take up professional ball throwing, for example? All things are scattered at such a huge distance, I don’t understand…”
Tina chuckled and picked up her dress from the floor
”Only if it’s a professional throwing of your clothes”
Bette smiled and tossed Tina her bra.
Tina rolled her eyes and smiled mischievously.
”You don’t change”
Bette walked over to the blonde and wrapped both arms around her waist.
”Are you complaining?”
Tina wrapped her arms around the brunette’s neck and brought her face close to hers
”Absolutely not”
Bette started to kiss Tina and they didn’t realize how they fell over the arm of the sofa
”Aw, babe, I’m too old for this kind of trick”
Bette was under Tina and landed badly on the sofa, so that her neck hit the back of the sofa and hurt sharply.
”Does it hurt very much? Let me massage it or I’d better get a cooling salve”
Tina started to get up to get the first aid kit, but Bette grabbed her arm and pulled her back so that Tina was once again straddling the brunette’s lap.
”Better massage it.”
Bette said this with a smile at the corners of her mouth and a playful look in Tina’s eyes.
The blonde raised her right hand to the neck of her beloved and began to gently squeeze the muscle so that the pain subsided. She did this and simultaneously left short, sweet kisses on Bette’s lips.
”Mmm, that’s much better”
Bette’s hands rested possessively on Tina’s buttocks, stroking them lightly
”I could have spent forever like this, but Alice would kill me if I was late for lunch”
Tina pulled back and smiled sweetly
”Okay, you’re right”
She stroked Bette’s cheek
”Could we meet again tonight? My assistant mentioned a jazz party that her friends are hosting… they are very good”
”I’d really like to meet you tonight, but maybe we can just… I don’t know, just the two of us? We haven’t walked for nothing in ages. I just want to be with you, without music or other people”
Bette smiled affectionately at the blonde’s words and kissed her hand, which was still on the brunette’s neck
”It’s really been a long time since we’ve walked in the evening. Let’s do this. And then we could have dinner at home with Ange”
”Yes, that would be great”
It wasn’t long before they finally got up from the couch, and Tina gave Bette her tracksuit so she wouldn’t have to wear last night’s dress. She felt more comfortable in a large black oversize suit. They said goodbye with a gentle kiss for a very short time. They’ll meet for lunch with the rest of the gang in an hour.

Hot chapter! Bette and Tina are inching towards being together again. Bette is still a little scared. Understandable. Tina is showing her commitment to the family by changing her work schedule. Well done. Glad that Angie is happier. She definitely needs both of her moms. Also glad that they are keeping the reconciliation to themselves although I someone think that Shane will pick up on their love vibe. She always does.

Rather a wonderful first date. Now, they have certainly established intimacy. Now they they need to talk things through – what happened, why did it happen and what can be done to keep it from happening again. Bette needs to respond to the letter and they both need to give more information as to what happened as a result of the divorce. And they both need to keep working with Angie on their relationships with her.
Angie will be going to college within 24 months. After that, for all intents and purposes, Angie will be an adult and will make the decisions on who she spends her free time with. I hope this transfer from Toronto to LA is enough to give Tina and Angie the time they need to renew their relationship they had when Tina live in the same household with her and Bette. When parents divorce even under the best of circumstances, the non-custodial parent’s relationship with the child become a somewhat more distant. The love and caring may be there, but the communication and understanding suffers simply because of the distance and the lack of time together. Angie is changing from a child to a young adult and having both parents close during this period of time is key to their future relationship when she is on her own.
This is a good story…. can’t wait to see more… thank you for this update.

I perfectly understand and agree with B&T desire to keep their realationship from their friends, but probably Angie also know about them – they go all together on the vacation, slept together. Would she keep that secret?
I think Angie knows something’s going on and they just need a conversation between the three of them, but only when Bette and Tina have something concrete to say.
