Chapter 13 – Calmness above all else

Tina knocked on the door, asking if they could come in.

”Hey kid,” Bette said, sitting down on the bed opposite Angie.

”One day you’ll stop calling me kid”

    ”One day”

Tina sat down next to Angie at the head of the bed. ”How did you sleep? Have you had breakfast yet?”

”Yeah, I woke up a couple of hours ago. Did I wake you two when I went down to the kitchen?”

Tina met Bette’s eyes after Angie’s last sentence. They were both worried and wanted to talk to their daughter about abstract topics before moving on to the main conversation. Although Angelica was already an adult and fully aware of everything, they were still afraid to tell her that they decided to try to resume their relationship. It’s a kind of natural instinct that says, ” you must protect your child.” And at the moment, protection was a big question, since the separation of mothers was undoubtedly a painful moment for Angie and their reconciliation now may also be not so easy.

”No, you didn’t. We want to talk to you about something…” Tina looked at Bette again and Bette knew she had to continue.

”You probably had some questions when we fell asleep together yesterday”
Bette started to say something else, but her daughter cut her off.

”No, actually. I mean, I certainly want to talk to you, and I’m glad you’re finally ready, but I didn’t have any questions about you falling asleep together last night. This was to be expected”

Bette looked at Angie more seriously. ”In what sense was this expected?”

”In the sense that you don’t hide well,” Angie said, and saw that both of her moms were very tense.
”Come on, relax already!” Angie smiled and put her arm around Tina’s shoulders. ”You look like you’re about to be shot”

Bette exhaled and smiled a little too, and then Angie went on to say.

”I’m not an idiot. Well, I hope you don’t think I’m an idiot. I see everything and you’re pretty bad actors, you know”

Bette stared at Angie while Tina stared at Bette.

”Well… then it will be easier. Ange, the thing is, the feelings between your mom and me never… never really disappeared. There were difficult times, there were misunderstandings, some resentments. And now we feel the strength to cope with it. We want to try to do this, as you probably already realized without our conversation”

    1. Eddie??? What the hell? Why is he at Bette’s house? Call the police! An uninvited intruder! This is not good.

Bette and Tina’s talk with Tina was surprising. But spending two hours in front of the mirror to get ready for her “business meeting” is not. Especially when that business is Tina. So romantic and so typically Tibette.

      Nice story…. keep it coming…

    2. Yep. Knew Eddie was really bad news. Glad Tina has her phone. Use it. 911 NOW. It was clear how much Eddie despised Bette so she is his obvious target. Where is Angie? Post soon.

    3. WTF, Eddie. Not surprised. I wouldn’t be surprised if he date raped Angie given her poor behavior. I hope they have a panic button rigged on the video security system. You know ones directly connected with the police.

I’m glad Bette and Tina told Angie. Shows growth in all three. New chapter soon?
