    Chapter 15

Alice raises her eyebrows as Tina approaches.

(Alice) I did not expect to see you

    Tina shrugs

(Tina) She hasn’t left me much choice

Tina turns to Shane and Dana.

    (Tina) Hi, I’m Tina, I’m a friend of Bette’s

Shane and Dana smile and nod at her, both looking slightly panicked.

(Alice) That’s Shane and Dana, don’t mind them

    Shane rolls her eyes.

(Shane) Thanks Al. Nice to meet you Tina

(Dana smiles) Yeah nice to meet you

Tina smiles at them and then turns back to Alice.

    (Tina) So, is she here?

(Alice) She’s at the bar, though I think she may have been sidetracked

Alice nods towards the dance floor, where a persistent looking woman is standing in front of Bette trying to get her to dance, while Bette tries to politely move past her. Tina watches for a moment before making her way over.

Tina taps Bette on the shoulder and Bette turns and looks at her with eyes widened.

(Bette) My God, what are you doing here?

(Tina) As I said we need to talk

Bette looks at her for a moment. The woman who was bothering Bette looks between the two of them and realises this is a lost cause and moves away.

(Bette) Alice is involved in this somehow, isn’t she?

    Tina smiles.

(Bette) I’m sorry you came all the way down here to hear basically what I’ve already told you. The decision has been made

Tina takes a step towards her.

(Tina) Bette you can’t do this. This is a huge venture for you to walk away from. You can’t just throw all of that away

    Bette shrugs.

(Bette) I really don’t know what to tell you

(Tina) I can limit how much we need to run into each other, if that’s your concern. I don’t need to attend every event

Tina takes a deep breath in.

(Tina) And I’m sorry about the kiss

    Bette looks at her.

(Tina) I guess that’s the catalyst here, right? I won’t do it again, if that’s what you want

(Bette frowns) If that’s what I want? I don’t think what I want has ever been a factor here, has it?

They are silent for a moment and Bette rubs her forehead and glances around the room, noticing how many eyes are on them.

    1. I suppose Tina wasn’t being deceitful when she told Bette she wanted ‘all or nothing’. She’s certainly going for all stringing both Bette and Andrew along to get what she wants. She may be playing Andrew for a fool, but I think he’s wise to her. He’s just giving her the space to come clean. He’s said it repeatedly when he sees them together that there is a connection. I don’t know why Tina is holding onto the marriage plan and being a politician’s wife, possibly another ambition. Very likely she would marry him and have women on the side secretly but didn’t count on meeting Bette or expecting to fall in love or rather in lust. I think Andrew is a really decent guy in that he wasn’t going to go after Bette for pulling out of the deal, but Tina’s actions tonight might really end up screwing Bette in more ways than one. Bette is taking a hugh chance that Tina actually cares about her well-being, but she was prepared to lose her gallery, her reputation, her livelihood and everything she’s worked for to allow Tina to have her ‘ALL’ with Andrew so what more does she stand to lose by putting her heart on the line and continuing the illicit affair. I know it’s Tibette and they can do no wrong moralistically as long as they end up together, but Tina is really crossing a line. Great story. Looking forward to what’s next.

    2. “(Alice) Are you sure about that?

Shane watches them for a moment.

(Shane) Less sure than I was a minute ago to be honest

(Dana) Al just look away if it’s stressing you out

(Alice) No chance of that. It’s like watching a car crash. An incredibly sexy car crash”

      LOL, LOL, LOL!!!
