    Chapter 19 – Are You Little P?

Tina’s House – Late Wednesday Afternoon

Since Oscar and Esai wouldn’t be picking her up for another two hours or so, Tina again sat in front of her computer and replayed the clip over and over trying to figure out if the fading voice was Bette’s. She was about 51% sure it was because she didn’t think that it was one she would ever forget. But it was difficult for her to figure out how Bette could have been linked to the band or the music industry without their paths having ever crossed before.

She pulled up the band’s Twitter page and began reading all the entries.

“Shopping, then rehearsals at LittleP’s house again tonight. So pumped 4 Fridays gig!”
    12:32 pm Today from TweetDeck

“@Angus_P: guitar solo rocked rehearsals dude!”

“RT: @funkrockster: Might be at Fridays gig – Awesome!!! Thx again 4 studio time. CDs R grrrreat!”

“Yum, Planet take out = bombizzle fo shizzle!”

“DJ Sugar en route 2 LittleP’s from lame dayjob. Ready 2 spin!!!”
5:11 pm Tuesday from mobile web

“Baby Sis I can’t figure this shit out yet. Oops can I say shit?”
    4:20 pm Tuesday from web

“Effin bored at my “real job.” Can’t wait til gig on Friday. On & Poppin’!!!”
    4:18 pm Tuesday from iTweet

Some of the entries made Tina laugh out loud as she scrolled through all of them searching for a sign of Bette. She was about to give up until she saw the third and fourth Tweets ever posted on the band’s profile.

“Ballroom blitz, er, brawl ended nite early Nice shiner 2 prove it LilP saved my ass N Lyft now 2 go hm Frndz say I got knocked da fcuk out!”
    12:03 am Saturday from txt

“Just saw @3rdWheel get outta limo. biz mgr got us in HIT VIP style. sweet pink bracelets. come out & play w/us kidz!!!”
    11:38 pm Friday from txt

They were at Hit on Friday?! Tina thought.

Opening a new tab on her web browser, Tina went back to the Facebook profile and watched the entire video of the band practice. Squinting at the screen and moving closer to it, she stared at the girl playing rhythm guitar. Oh my God, she thought. Tina instantly knew that the woman she was looking at was the friend that Bette left her side to rescue. It seemed like things were starting to fall into place.

She clicked back to the Twitter page.

“LilP saved my ass,” she read out loud. Then she scrolled back up the page. She closed her eyes tightly trying to remember every inch of Bette that night. Was she wearing a VIP bracelet? Fuck, I don’t remember.

Shaking her head, Tina opened her eyes again and read the similar Tweets out loud. “En Route to LittleP’s…Rehearsals at LittleP’s…Bette are you Little P?” she asked, eyebrows raised, heart pumping, voice hopeful.

    1. It would be cool if I could color the text in the body of the story, but unfortunately we don’t have that tool option on the site. And if we do, I’m too dumb to figure out the html code to activate it.

Either way, it would look cooler if I could get the tweets to look slightly different from the rest of the text.

Back in the day, Twitter would reveal the program or app you used to send a tweet, which is why I have those details with the timestamp on each tweet. Just in case it confused anyone. =)

    2. Hey, MeLL, that’s nice of you that you wanted to prettify the Twitter dialogues. But by using blank lines and italics it’s very readable.

And yes, ‘stalking’ someone’s social media postings sounds familiar but in Tina’s case I’d call it modern research of a potiential new band ;-)
